I've been turned down before on a meet

Possibly due to fault of my own but still it's not a nice feeling when you've both looked forward to meeting with the build up to it etc

Any one else been turned down and for what reasons ?

Titz Towers, North Notts

My left foot got turned down along with some bedding when I was having a lie in as a kid and my mum made my bed all the same.

I have been turned down. Not bothered as it is totally unrealistic to expect everyone to be attracted to you . Are you attracted to every single member on fab ?

No I'm not attracted to everyone on fab

But I do think that you know to some extent through pics if your interested enough to meet and think even if your not interested enough to play if someone's travelled a fair distance to see you you should at least have a night out to some extent with that person then leave and stay friends rather than just standing up and leaving that person I'd at least have somekind of night with them if effort has been made on there part

From reading his op it sounds like they got past the message stage and met in person, then that person rejected him face to face, after he had travelled to see them,

And I kind of agree with what he's saying if someone travelled 50 miles to meet us even if there wasn't an attraction there we would still have a night out with them just because there's no sex doesn't mean you can't have a good laugh

It happens. I'm gutted for all of five minutes and then make a concerted effort to get over myself. It could be me or it could be any number of reasons. Knowing exactly why or wondering about it won't make it any less of a no. Or at least that's what I tell myself...

yes this is what I understood too from the OP. Thankfully I've never got to that stage and been rejected but then I do insist on a thorough "getting to know you" before even agreeing to meet with extensive pic swapping so they do have a fair idea of what I am like/look like before meeting. I'm not saying that this is foolproof, but it has worked so far.

My first meet on this account (we agreed not to leave feedback for each other so it's nobody in my veri's!)

Anyway we'd messaged back and forth and exchanged quite a few pictures so we agreed to a hotel meet somewhere half way for both of us. I didn't have very good signal on my phone so my sat nav was crap and I got lost on the way there, had to ask a taxi driver who let me follow him to the hotel! Anyway met the guy, he wasn't as good looking as his pictures and was a lot smaller, I hadn't seen his dick either he just assured me "it's big enough, I've not had no complaints!"

Anyway it was too dark for me to attempt to find my way back to the m4 so I thought suck it up I've got a bacon and egg sandwich, some crisps and a wispa in my bag, we went to the room, I tried to get in the mood by getting him to give me a back massage but I touched his erect penis and it was less than what I like, I wasn't getting juicy and he could tell I wasn't into it when I asked him if we could just watch X factor on itv plus 1. I stayed the night with him though and we both left in the morning! If it came to a physical fight I could've taken him but it taught me a massive lesson to have the social coffee meets first so we can both see each other in the flesh.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Knowing what someone looks like doesn't tell you whether there is that chemical attraction. Half an hour with someone you don't really want to be with feels like an eternity.

I state very clearly that no one should travel out of their way for a first meet with me. It will be a short social meet.

I can top your rejection though.

In my early days, before this site and before doing social meets first I had someone come over. We chatted a bit and decided to give it a go. Both naked he looked at me and said, "you have a pretty face but I can't go there" as he looked at my body. He then grabbed his clothes and ran down the stairs dressing as he went and left.

Ah rejection. Had it through life..

The one that really hurt the most was as a hormonal 12 or 13 yo at school. I was with mates and there was a group of girls scoring us as we walked past - not bad, not bad, not bad, ugh ...

The 'ugh' was for me. That was like a dagger in the back at the time. Since then I tend not to give a fuck, if they don't like me they don't like me - I always make a point of giving everyone a get out opportunity, strictly a social first (if even just a drink before heading back to a room) so they can back out without awkwardness if they get the 'bloody hell what a minger' moment ..

What happens in this situation if you realise their personality I rates you on meeting or for some reason you dislike them in general on meeting even though all was fine up to that point? I certainly wouldn't want to carry on an evening with them.

Not all personalities will connect on meeting. I like certain type of men. Strong confident and assertive. If I meet a guy and he isn't like that in person instead weak childish and shy then it's a no no for me. Regardless of distance travelled.

"From reading his op it sounds like they got past the message stage and met in person, then that person rejected him face to face, after he had travelled to see them,

And I kind of agree with what he's saying if someone travelled 50 miles to meet us even if there wasn't an attraction there we would still have a night out with them just because there's no sex doesn't mean you can't have a good laugh"

. True but I prefer to be told straight away if there is no attraction. ( though I accept not everyone does ). At least the person you are meeting has the honesty to tell you to your face that you are not their type . Last time it happened to me , I told the couple that there was no need to apologise as his partner would not be attracted to everyone and they thanked me for being so understanding . They even gave me back my bottle of wine . With the benefit of hindsight , it might have helped if I has spoken to the lady on the phone first . I think her partner was trying to talk her into doing a threesome .

"I've been turned down before on a meet

Possibly due to fault of my own but still it's not a nice feeling when you've both looked forward to meeting with the build up to it etc

Any one else been turned down and for what reasons ? I have been turned down. Not bothered as it is totally unrealistic to expect everyone to be attracted to you . Are you attracted to every single member on fab ?

No I'm not attracted to everyone on fab

But I do think that you know to some extent through pics if your interested enough to meet and think even if your not interested enough to play if someone's travelled a fair distance to see you you should at least have a night out to some extent with that person then leave and stay friends rather than just standing up and leaving that person I'd at least have somekind of night with them if effort has been made on there part "

Why should you have a night out - to me there has to be a spark there, personality, humour, chatty. I couldn't spend an evening in someone's company if I didn't think the above and they hardly said two words, were nervous - what a great night that would be .... NOT!! I'm by no means everybody's cup of tea and never been stood up or rejected but if I ever am then it's their loss. I won't meet for the sake of it or boredom and certainly travel any long distances. You'll get over it and move on until the next meet but if you can't take rejection then maybe FAB isn't for you!!!

Everyone encounters rejection, it's part of reality and life. I wouldn't see another way to be but honest. Makes us tougher / self aware / whatever I guess.

Exactly my point I travelled 2 hours to a town I didn't know or feel comfortable on my own ok I'm a bloke and not quite as vulnerable as a women would be but still the same

I think it was rude to just have only 20 mind with me when in fact conversation was starting to flow

If they had said ok were not keen on fun but you've travelled all this way then we will gladly take you out rather than leave me to norwich on my own

"Mindset of the average guy on Fab:

"What do you mean you don't want to have sex with me?..that's not fair. I mean, I WANT to have sex with you. I've done my part. What's YOUR problem?"

^Change that.

"

Certainly it's not every man. Probably not even the majority. Still, it sums up some perfectly.

"Oh god I've been told ive got a gorgeous face but I'm too fat for them..I feel a bit bleerrgghh for a few minutes but then I think fuck it. I guess ive got a thick skin and moved on from it. As long as I'm happy with myself then that's all that matters. The day I becme unhappy with the way I look then I will look to change what I'm unhappy with. I get far more abuse on a dating site about my size than any other place...the world is s strange place "

Nail on the head!!!!! You ain't fat! You have thick skin! Woo hoo I have self diagnosed myself too!!!

Take it on the chin, walk out the door with the attitude, " it happens or dont"

I would much rather be told, its not going to happen, than someones " oh ok for the sake of it"

Agreed. I've been turned down too, sometimes in quite hurtful ways but I'd rather that than someone 'going through with it' when they didn't want to.

Meh. I'll have him tied down and will be removing his clothes with paramedic shears by that point...

At some point in out life time we all encounter rejection. Whether it be in real life or fab life. Iv encountered it a few times in both. Yes it hurts, but you soon bounce back from it as we all do. We have to in order to move on.

Exactly! Why be someones relief, you will do much better along the way.

I got called a slag in a club not so long ago because i had to say i did not want to, i just thought " oh well little boy" no need for nastiness, no easy way of letting someone down, but being nasty is silly.

It's like 'well you're too fat and ugly for me anyway'. Strange, since I wasn't 10 seconds ago, before I said no.

I'm guilty of not opening/replying to messages but state on my profile that if I don't think the person is for me then that's what will happen. I have to agree that if you've been chatting with someone, mutually like each other's face pics but are then ignored it's quite annoying. I have in the past sent a message asking if they're still interested thereby giving the opportunity to restart the chat, as I ask people messaging me to do. But when that message is ignored there is no option to block, forget and move on. Luckily I've never had anyone leave me immediately they saw me for real, I'd likely feel differently if that happened.

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

You would honestly want a night out with someone who did not want to spend time with you? Wow, how awkward would that feel? Honesty is by far the best policy.

And yes, I have had some pretty shitty rejections - fab and real life - the fab one - he drove past me in his car, and then whizzed out of the car park and then texted me there were no parking spaces, and he wasn't going to bother. I'd driven about 30 miles to meet.

We have all has rejections but it's part of this lifestyle. Even though you may drive a distance to meet doesn't mean sex is guaranteed. Always have a back up plan xx

I had one, many years ago and not from here, pretend to turn gay part way through a meet.

I laughed and told him a simple "sorry, I'm not interested" would have done but at least he'd done it before the tubes stopped running and saved me from night bus hell or a cab fare.

Stop stressing.

I frankly don't care what others think of me. I stick with that.

I was commenting on a meet I had where I had stayed and I wish I hadn't. I was trying to show a balance of what could have happened. You weren't that meet. Just to clarify.

Am sure you will pick yourself up and move on with a lesson learnt. I certainly have and had a great meet recently x

"No i can honestly say Ii have never been turned down on a meet, I've had a few thanks but no thanks on here but everyone I have met in the flesh seemed to be happy with me

You're feet look seriously aggressive..I wouldn't even fuck with those feet! "

More fool you mate. Liberally apply warm oil, feed thick erection between those now slippery feet of Naughty's and pump away....

A simple process but one I would relish enormously...
