I like The Earth Dies Screaming and One in Ten. Have those on my reggae playlist on the iPod. Often listen to it in the car.

Don't slow Down is my favourite

They started of as a great band. I went to a free concert that they did in Finsbury Park about thirty years and it was fantastic.

I think in their later years they got a bit popy and I went off them a bit. But their early stuff brings back some happy memories of my youth.

Kingston town and red red wine my faves! Remember buying it on vinyl! For anyone under 35 - that's a big black plastic circle with a hole in it and grooves on it!

I once worked on the construction of Star City in Birmingham, a cinema complex. When it opened they did a movie premier, George Clooney Mark Wahlberg Perfect Storm.

To make sure nothing went wrong on the night people who'd worked on the project were required to be there, so I had a backstage pass as it were (tell you what lads, you want to pull women, get one of those). So I was in the back area where all the celebs were. I was stood against a rail watching the escalator where all the stars were coming up and getting their pics taken at the top.

If felt a little bit of jostling at my back and heard their conversation, "Hey should we have come up that escalator?"

The other replied "dunno really"

The first replied "oh well, fuck 'em"

I looked round and it was UB40, literally rubbing shoulders with them

That night also had Kieran Dyer and Rio Ferdinand asking me where I got my pass from, thought it was just kids messing about so I said to them "have they let you out for the day or what, piss off". They pissed off, and it was only when I saw them going up the escalator I realised who it was lol.
