Why on earth would that require saying? I am gobsmacked?

It's not that odd. Some people are very open and allow themselves to be vulnerable.

Right now they probably need something and think that that statement will help them get that.

They might need a break, or support or whatever, but its their profile and suits what they wanted to say at this time. Don't worry about it. You won't know why unless you ask them and I'd leave someone alone if I saw that status, or offer them support if I knew them well enough.

Maybe they are expected to support their family left behind and just looking for something from friends on here for themselves?

Maybe their parent was dying and they were caring for them and they've had conversations about it on here previously and wanted to let those people know it's all over now?

Yeah might seem odd at first but there's all kinds of reasons why they might have done it. I can only think of those ones but am sure there's more.

Absolutely and when my children's father died, whilst we split 20 yes ago, I preferred to be there to support them and chose not to meet people

The status was odd in my opinion in so far the last thing on my mind at such a time would be the need to tell the cohorts on a recreational sex site that I wouldn't be meeting on that specific day.
