They caught up with me and now so bored during the day I'm dreaming sudoku and crosswords.

It actually feels like detention at school being kept in all day!

Am I just unlucky not to be picked???

"Yep...... When I was on jury service I spent my days just like you..... Then I got picked for a month long murder trial"

exactly the same with me

First two days were awful

day one = orientation

day two = one plead out guilty so no trial; and one failed to appear

day three = picked for a murder trial

Much more fortunate in sine sense than the alternate jurors, they ended up with a three month fraud case

Don't they ask you questions to determine your suitability first?

Just act a bit mad, dither like you can't make up your mind, pretend to have Tourettes and wax lyrical on how we should bring back hanging.

"wax lyrical on how we should bring back hanging."

It went away? When? Why didn't anyone tell me?

I think you were on the loo. Or in the pub. Or something.

Maybe you were in the loo at the pub.

I don't like pub poos. Only in an emergency

Tbh I actually quite enjoyed jury service, was interesting to see the process as I'd never been inside a court room before. I even agreed to serve a second stint 10 months later when I was called up again, despite having the option to decline as it was less than a year. Second time round I sat on a gbh case and a rape case

I was selected last year and declined. Being self employed meant I would lose too much money. I worked it out that it would be cheaper to pay the fine for non appearance than it would be to actually go. Fortunately they understood and excused me.

Already played that card. Was deferred but ordered to attend this time.

Next time that there's a general election vote.

It shows that you do exist.

That's what happened to me 'i haven't voted since '

I'm afraid I'd have to pay the non attendance fine if they insisted.

I've got so much respect for those who do jury service, without them I wouldn't of got the result I did when I took an disgusting awful man to court. Eight and half years found guilty on 5/6 charges thanks to the jury for sitting there for two weeks listening to loads of crap and having to syphon out the truths!

It can't be easy!

Jury service isn't easy, but it is one of the central pillars of our society

Random selection from electoral roll"

and that's one of the many reasons I don't vote
