I feel I am somewhat lacking - I have never fallen in love, so am not interested in being with someone who expects that of me. I don't think I can. Even when I got married, we re-wrote our vows so I didn't have to say love - he accepted that at the time... although he did say when he left (after cheating for nearly 2 years) that he needed to be loved.

Therefore NSA doesn't come with the expectation of something to fail at.

Personally I think it suits myself and where I am in life at the moment. My career is taking off and working long hours, quite dangerous, it just isn't something I'd want to put someone through and have them constantly worry.

In a few years time I'll settle down.....

Curious to see other people's reasons but for me it's a combination of a few things. I've been single for a while and am used to my own space, I'm very independent (which scares most guys off) and it's just easier/less complicated than keep attempting to date... Plus I'm enjoying myself! I'm not completely closed to being with someone, but I don't think it would work if I then had to stick to just one sexual partner and, although I've not actively looked, I can't imagine it'd be easy to find someone who is willing to share in the 'real world', and prob just as difficult looking for someone who wants ties on here. Maybe one day I'll stumble on the mystical 'one' but until then I'm having fun on here and happy on my own

It would be interesting to ask the people on here what they would consider a 'proper' relationship.

I have had one long relationship but even then I couldn't remain faithful. I enjoy variety far too much, and get bored very easily. I am also very highly sexed and always seem to pick men who aren't, or if they are they turn out to be complete wankers. I am not happy when trying monogamy and not happy being told what to do. So I choose to forgo a certain amount of intimacy to have free reign over my own life, and it seems to have gone OK so far.

I havent met many that want kids, regardless of their age,or if they have or havent kids.

I'm hitting 40 soon..it'd be nice to have the option of having them,rather than an outright no future kids.

Started on dating sites but hurting others was an issue. You can tell ladies you are not exclusively with them but it doesn't stop them from becoming attached.

Had 'proper' relationships and been married. I have discovered that I am infinitely happier single. However, I also like sex and have no intention of living like a nun. I have no hang ups about NSA and never confuse it with 'feelings'. It's a shag.

I am lucky to have good friends, including an fb, and family who give me support as and when. But, ultimately, I like being alone.

When my marraige broke up I discovered Fab and used it to meet lovely ladies to 'catch up' as it where. It restored my confidence greatly and I had a lot of fun.

Since then I've been in two relationships both lasting around 18 months where I have hidden my profile and left the site.

Relationships are my natural state. I'm essentially monogamous ... but they don't seem to work and the baggage that comes with meeting people your own age range always gets in the way.

NSA is the only way forward really. I'd rather be honest about what I want on a site like Fab than try and get sex from dating or nightclubs, it seems more 'ethical' somehow.

I prefer regular meets and would love to find a regular FWB though - maybe even a 'relationship-lite' with thd right lady.

I like my own space. I like being in my own company. I like to sleep on my own. I like doing a lot of stuff alone. I have a heap of friends who fit into my life and me theirs. I can have sex if I want to. I can have intimacy if I choose to. I have all the good parts of life and not so much of the shite. I don't want to do someone else's laundry or live with their bad habits. I have enough trouble living with my own.

I'm not sure it was a conscious decision. It suits my life at the current time. I had a longish relationship then a marriage with a bad ending. I like my own company and have enjoyed finding "me" again. Pleasing myself rather than trying to compromise. I have also decided that my children come first, until they are older. I feel that makes it unfair to enter a relationship. So, NSA suits and at least here, you can be honest about what you're looking for without any judgements on it.

I was married for 20 years, not very happily might I add, and I recently finished a 5 year relationship as it wasn't going anywhere and I just think that maybe I'm not meant to be in a relationship, love lets you down no matter how much effort you put into it so why keep trying to find it

Too be honest, it is an interesting question and one I don't really have an answer to.

Because my parent are divorced was that the start? I have no idea, I've never wanted kids, so it's not like I have had the clock ticking thing, I've never been in love (that is an honest answer)

I've now been single for over 8 years and falling into a trap I need to be wary of (I think I could quite easily become a recluse

)

So NSA for me is my way of having fun without any commitment, though I do place a high importance on being friends with my partners, as I do need a connection so I'm not totally heartless biatch

I'm too busy with work at the minute to put any real effort into a relationship, so it wouldn't be fair on either person. I don't envy my mates having to 'clock in' so to speak, when I can do what I want, when I want

. I have my own place, and I enjoy my own space, I've just had a mate lodging for a couple of weeks, and that was tough when I'm used to living alone. I enjoy my life and love my kinks, in normal (vanilla) relationships i find it hard to indulge in them and i lose a portion of my life that i enjoy.

The perfect side would be to find a.n other who wants to indulge in the things i love long term, but in the meantime i'm confident enough and happy enough in myself to not feel the need to always have a significant other (and likewise not to judge others who feel the same).

A cliche it may be but you only live once seems as good a reason as any i've heard

I love love, it's wonderful.

I an in no way cynical about 'longterm' relationships, I've had some great ones while they lasted including my marriage.

I do though thank fate for allowing me to live at a time when the world has effective contraception because I love being single. Being free to act on my impulses which include lots of great sex with different women is a price I am simply not willing to pay for a life partner.

I instead have lots of relationships, some much deeper than others. Being a naturally sensuous guy I can assure you that I don't go without real intimacy. I rarely have 'wham bam' sex and almost always have sex with the women I meet more than once, some for years and I have never misled any of them in order to have sex.

NSA is fantastic if you enjoy the single life and embrace it. I know that I am capable of genuinely loving a women and everything she is without feeling the need to tie her down, restrict or change her.

Is it a phase I'm going through? Maybe, but if it is it's been a long phase.

I'm one of those stupid people who is'too nice!' Had two long term relationships over 20 years and both guys treated me badly - because I let them! Until I have enough self confidence to be sure i'll never let that happen again - then fab is my home - and I LOVE it! The fun and friendship even more than the mind-blowing sex!

Going on 8 years by myself. I've done a helluva lot as a result. Not always easy but as I did more I had more and more fun and became even more liberated. Being on this site represents a connection to people who are like minded. Life is a little hectic at the moment with work, travels and goals. I never say never. I keep getting told I will when I meet 'the one'... All I'm hoping for is early menopause

. I have a niece I adore, and my sister had just found out she pregnant with number 2, and as happy as being an Auntie makes me, I've not got the patience to be a mother. In fact my lack of patience might be another reason for my single status too... Making an effort with someone 24/7 sounds like hard work!

After the break up of my marriage I found myself very alone, no friends, no relationship no self confidence and four kids to bring up. This lifestyle affords me the intimacy and friendship that I miss but is flexible and understanding. It also has taught me that even though im not the most handsome nor most ripped guy i am attractive to some.

I'm not saying never again but for now relationships are simply not feasible, my kids and work has to come first

I think you can have a 'proper' relationship as well as the NSA sex.. Many on here are happy in relationships as well as searching for NSA sex... As a single i quickly learnt for me there is no such thing as NSA unless you do what i do in clubs and at parties.. How can you befriend someone, get to know them, get intimate and then say there is nothing between you?? There will always be the emotional string

To be honest it is quite easy, or maybe it is just me? You can be friends with someone and care if something bad is going on in their life without caring if they are meeting and shagging others? Maybe my previous comment is true....

Quite sure I'm slightly Aspergers although no one else would notice I do! In my case I really struggle to interpret other peoples' intentions so college / uni for me was something of a disaster ending in depression until I worked it out.

The whole routine of dating, chatting up etc is something I've never been good at despite being confident and at least human looking but my last relationship ended in almost unbearable pain due to the fact we were heading in different directions. I loved her but struggled to express it.

So now I've found a happy medium for the time being until the rest of my life is in order.

I personally don't think i'm relationship material. I don't chase which is my problem. I know that means i sometimes lose out. But, that's just me and my shit.

However, my situation is slowly changing and i'm thinking of settling down. That maybe due to those i used to meet or those around me are now settling down.

I actually don't like NSA, it does nothing for me. Took a long time and much unhappiness to figure it out.

For me, the FWB is far more where it's at, but sadly so much of the scene isn't geared toward this any more, hence why I don't meet.

It's all cool though, I'm very patient

I don't, I'd far rather have a passionate, intense, exclusive relationship. But if I can't find that I'll look for FWB, and if I can't find those I'll seek FB, and only if neither of those are around will I go for nsa.
