Whilst mainly for the males others input more than welcome.

How many men actually regularly check their testicles for abnormalities lumps etc.

I do and so glad I did recently found a lump on one and went to docs fortunately after painful biopsy was found to be basically a cyst.

If you do not check regular then best start as it can affect anyone.

No doubt there will be some idiots comment re testicles in a sexual matter but this is not a funny matter.

I check often. And a few years back I found a lump. It turned out to be a blood clot in my case. I think the positive thing about this thread, is the fact that a couple of guys have mentioned lumps they have found that haven't been cancerous. Hopefully this may reassure any guy who finds a lump, that it may not be as bad as you first suspect. But in all cases, get it checked out asap.

And don't forget its not all about the testicles, but its also recommended that males should check breast tissue also.

I found a lump and left it for 3 months, in that time I had 3 more were found and one of my testicle swelled up to twice the size.

I saw the doctor on the Saturday and was in hospital on the friday, had the operation and 3 weeks of radiotherapy. I felt as sick as a dog going through that.

5 years later I got the all clear.

Don't be silly, if you find anything go and get it checked out.

I do.

I've been to the doctors twice in recent years after finding lumps (the last time only the other month). On both occasions I was sent for an ultrasound and everything turned out to be fine.

Check them out, lads. It is a serious matter.

Both son and nephew had teaticular cancer, cant emphasise enough about checking your nads snd going to the doctor if you find anything abnormal...

Just on a side note, if anyone of you lads need a little push to go, I managed to see a very nice female doctor who rubbed copious amounts of jelly onto my balls as she did the ultrasound........

This is slightly off topic but since this thread has the attention of men specifically, men are more at risk of an aortic abdominal aneurysm than women. The screening age is approximately 65 but anyone (including women) who has a close family relative - parent or sibling - who has or has had an aneurysm should ask their GP about screening. The NHS recommends screening in these cases five years younger than the age the close relative was when diagnosed. Screening is done with ultrasound and if an aneurysm is found it is usually monitored regularly to monitor any change.

Sorry for taking it off topic OP but it seemed an opportune time to mention it. I lost my father, an uncle, a close male friend and my maternal grandmother to this condition and any awareness is better than none. x
