10% apparently aren't going to go due to the bad weather

I'm confused!

Why only 10%? Is that one untrustworthy airline? 10% of dodgy pilots? If it's windy for one plane, surely it's just as windy for another

It's all about the gap between planes, the flow rate reduces in bad weather

Each airline will have its own standard operating procedures and limitations for flight operations.

I'm quite knowledgeable in aviation and I'd imagine the aircraft grounded by the high winds will be ones that are not able to operate in high crosswind conditions. Usually, lighter regional type aircraft.

Somewhere in North Norfolk

Does the weather, perhaps, also mean that one or more runways won't be usable at times therefore reducing the number of flights possible?

Just a guess, I know nothing about how airports are run.

It means a lot of domestic flights coming into LHR will be delayed or cancelled which causes knock on effects

Easyjet doesn't fly into Heathrow, try checking Luton
