Once a few months have passed and I'm comfortable with being friends with my ex-girlfriend again, I'm seriously just thinking of just being far more open about my lifestyle in public.

A lot of my friends have unusual relationships going on and no-one bats an eyelid in most of my social groups - TV's, transgender, gay couples, three-way relationships and other such arrangements all feature with several mates. I'm the weird one in our family as well, so they won't be surprised either

Anyone else any experiences of just being open about looking for a FWB?

I'm pretty open with my family and friends about stuff.

My mum knows I have "friends" instead of one boy friend and also knows I've been to swingers clubs and stuff and she's fully supportive of the way I have chosen to live.. She's a good Christian woman in the proper sense of the word.

I genuinely think a lot of people are looking for something that is not a full on relationship these days. Maybe we as a society need to accept that more?

People are usually scared of what they don't understand and what isn't perceived to be the "norm"

I've never managed to find a woman who would like to be my fwb. If I ever did then I would tell my friends as they would surely meet said friends on a night out, but I'm not sure that my parents would quite understand the concept so I probably wouldn't tell them

very true, ignorance is fear, but if your comfortable with what you do, people tend to be more curious, and in some cases even slightly envious!x

I guy I work with is like that when I dropped a hint once. He kept asking all about it but I never tell details on any meets - especially to someone as indescreet as him.

I gave him a vague idea that I 'did alright for that sort of thing' and left it at that, he's been chewing his leg off wanting to know more ever since
