A question aimed predominantly at the awesome couples and lovely ladies of the forum, but responses from all are equally as welcome........

I'm intrigued as to what sort of messages do you prefer?

I consider myself quite a wordsmith and do like to construct a comprehensive message, naturally composed in the Queens English......

I don't tend to get many responses, and am therefore contemplating if the composition is off putting to folk?

No matter the words, it's if the recipient is in the mood to read, reply or delete.

A few good messages may be lost in the pile of pish that loads of others send and get block deleted.

Many won't answer unless they really want to meet with the sender.

Normally a reply with no thanks encourages a rude or disrespectful dialogue, one most of us don't wish to get into.

All of the above are applicable.

It all depends on our mood and if we are looking, the sort of 1st message we would like to receive would ideally be aimed at both of us, will consist of more that 1 sentence and should intrigue us to find out more.

A lot will not respond as your profile you have no pictures .. most here go for looks first no matter how good your Queens English is.

And therein lies the rub. Regardless of your eloquence and mastery if the Queen's English. Irrespective of the content and brilliance of your wit....most Fems and couples will click onto your profile before making the decision to delete/ignore/block/answer.

A one line profile and no pictures hardly makes you stand out from the 10's of thousands of guys on the site.

As any of the other of hundreds of "no luck on the site" threads will show you.

Effort in (to profile) is directly proportional to results out (meets).

This advice is given by many and by me in good faith (and the experience of 200+ verified meets).

Act on it and good luck.

Ignore it and you may as well get off the site as you will continue to fail.

I'm not sure you posted this with the wish to have your profile dissected, but you can see where people are coming from. New here and testing the water after a year isn't ideal

Anyway, in response to your question, I like to see they've read my profile and I prefer an entertaining message. However, no matter how good a message, if I'm not attracted to them, or their profile fails to entice, then it still won't go anywhere.

Thanks folks for the responses thus far.

Whilst I am fastidious in ensuring my messages have the right content, and that includes reading the profile. The same cannot be said about my attention to my own profile.

It has been mentioned a number of times when I have had the good fortune of a social meet....

It IS something I intend to work on in the near future. As for pics, I don't display any on my profile due to the sensitive nature of my vanilla life. That said, I always attach a recent pic to all my messages, as I fully appreciate a physical attraction has to exist.

This thread wasn't to draw attention to me, nor my shortcomings. I was generally interested in the workings of the messaging system from others perspective....

Keep the responses coming, it is greatly appreciated. In the interim, if any couple or lone female wants to see a pic, I naturally, would be only to happy to oblige.

p.s As far as my username goes, it is a name I have used, and continue to use since I 1st got online properly in 1996. And YES, I did actually own one at the time.......lol
