I'm a 90's sort of guy and still wear original Joop now. Still get complimented on it in bars and nightclubs from women who like it. I also wear Angel for men, a couple of the different Diesel aftershaves and David Beckham Instinct.

I don't know if you guys agree on this or not, just my opinion.

I was always taught that the whole purpose of cologne / fragrance was to define an element of individuality.

I must admit some of the more generic fragrances that are available from most places are very very nice but I always try to find rare ones in the hope that no one else has it. If everyone is wearing the same or a collective of the same ones, they soon loose there appeal. Bit like sheep following sheep really.

I aim for something different and unique. Hence I try to avoid the more generic ones and perhaps might get one which I know is like a limited edition or they might have only produced 1000 bottles for the UK or something.

Just my way of thinking really

I don't like other people buying scents for me. I think they are very personal and a nice smell in a bottle does not necessarily equate to a nice smell when it hits a persons natural odour.

I have tried literally hundreds over the years but stick to 4 or 5 that I know work for me and get noteworthy mentions when I wear them.

I used to buy oils of bergamot, sandalwood and cedarwood and make my own scent from that. Even put it in the bath and "splash it all over". I used to get a lot of compliments on that smell.
