Don't get me wrong I fly often but yesterday I arrived at Riga airport to find inhad to pay a 7 eur security charge because Ryanair don't include it in their charges...I couldn't find it on any mention on any Ryanair documents that I would have to pay this.

Whilst it isn't a lot but it takes the piss, I was wondering if anyone else has been stung by these secret travel costs that are not advertised but have to pay

Egypt usher everyone into a que to purchase a visa as soon as they come off the plane. If you are staying in Sharm El Sheik (and not travelling to the pyramids in Cairo) you don't need this visa. They sneakily leave this information out

Yes we went to hurghada last year and the holiday company said you have to buy the visa from them at £16 each but I went to the kiosk and paid £10 each

and got through the customs a lot quicker

Not really, but how many people read all the small print. I have been caught out a few times, I still fail to read the small print.

I agree. A lot of Asian countries have a departure tax which is a local tax and not part of the airline fee. Some airlines include it but they advertise it as a special service.

It sounds more appealing that Thompson, who on a flight leaving at 1am- when most people have been up for a good 15 hours, first come bumping down the isle selling drinks, then just as you start to doze off they return with duty free, then once again as you hope to snooze, they blast an announcement over the PA that they're selling scratch cards.....JUST FUCK OFF AND LET ME TRY TO SLEEP!!!!

. Well said . It is a local tax and have had to pay it in a few places . Not the airlines fault . Ryan Air do an excellent service if you adhere to all the terms and conditions . Michael O Leary has changed aviation in the UK for ever
