I wish them the best of luck and a safe return but what we should be doing there is quarantining the entire area and enforcing it, not treating it and putting more and more people at risk of infection.

I agree with you. I would be very interested to know if they had the choice or not.

Let's hope they have the correct equipment and the correct infection control training. Cause if this goes wrong ( which I hope it does not) someone's going to be on the thin end of the wedge

surely by doing that your just condemning those inside 'the area' which is condemning those within to the luck of the draw..?

btw its a pretty big area which would require several thousands of military I reckon with a much higher and wider level of resources..

and how do you enforce such a quarantine when people would be desperate to leave..?

Harsh? - yes.

Sensible? - yes

Compassionate? - sadly not for those inside the quarantine area.

whilst the issue needs sorting and the spread of the disease needs to be checked, I think the approach albeit far too little far too late is probably the better way of doing it..

Hopefully had bloody good infection control training but somehow I can't see them traipsing around in the specialist suits that patients in a hospital environment would be treated in.
