Has anyone else started to use the new meaning of the word "because"?

It was a subordinating conjunction, but it has also become prepositional, (or the because-noun)

Old use.... I am not meeting you because I don't want to and I don't like the look of you.

New use.... I am not meeting you, because reasons.
