Starbucks or Costa??

I am a self confessed coffee addict!

I've always preferred Starbucks over Costa. Just found the coffee to be richer and it has more of a punch.

I know we could sit and discuss that they don't pay their taxes etc etc but this is about coffee.

My friends insist Costa is better....but I disagree...what do you guys think?

Yes I know it might seem trivial but my morning coffee is vital to my daily performance

You are actually right!

The independents do much better quality coffee but it hard to find one open at 6.00 am

When I have the time I do tend to visit them. I also find the service is much more personal, but am not ready to give up my Starbucks card just yet

indeed. . Chain coffee giants are pants . You can get much better coffee from an independant. Plus an interesting variety of customers rather that just yummy mummies and business folk . Save a quid or so a drink too !

Costa.. the only think they don't do, which they should, is the cheese and marmite toasty.

Costs are doing a limited edition roast called Paradise Street at the moment... try it. it's smooth, it's velvety.

How do you have your coffee then OP?

If I have to resort to Costa, hazelnut latte with 2 brown sugars.

We like Starbucks if we're drinking coffee out and for us it's Americano with hot milk on the side.

If we're at home it fresh ground beans.

My biggest problem when buying a cup of coffee is size and heat.

I never venture for anything less than a grande.

As for heat...ask for extra hot and they steam the milk fresh.

I have my own Starbucks coffee cup. A pound off every time I use it and they wash it for me as well

Yep always ask for hot milk on the side but only ever drink the smallest size....lord knows why they call it tall! It's often the independents that.serve small cups of luke warm coffee although we do got to two where this isn't so, I would rather not bother or have tea.

Illy is always pretty good coffee in my opinion.

A likes McDonalds coffee, I don't like drinking from cardboard so I'm not keen.

If I had a choice I would always go for fresh ground, homemade coffee from a bone china cup and saucer (yes I have a special one ) but then I'm a fussy article

Some interesting comments.

As for coffee at home, I have contemplated investing in one of those Starbucks machines so I can have it on tap but it all just seems too much of a faf!

I only wish they did deliveries.

As for tea...has to be Green or Mint.

The best tea I have ever tasted was at The Savoy @ The Strand. They have there own tea person...it was pretty amazing....as was the price!
