Who makes the best bread?

French?

Germans?

Vietnamese (they have a good reputation for baguettes better than those from France)

Any other suggestions?

North of The Wall - youll need your vest

With naan, paratha, chapati etc I think youd have to throw India in there too.

And Italy with foccacia, ciabatta

I dont think we are. I dont think you can beat some of the lovely artisan breads that you can get these days. Not forgetting we have crumpets and muffins etc. Im hungry now.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I don't like to pick a best as they are not like for like. Use the best bread for whatever you are eating/doing.

We aren't. We do amazing bread - we also do some pretty shit bread. You can't beat British bread (the proper kind) and beer, I reckon.

Britain is great at bread. Even the humble, mass processed, white sliced comes into its own as a bacon butty.

There's something like 600 types of bread in Germany, what one are you talking about? Pumpernickel is horrible.

Yeah, that's true, but in other countries their standard everyday bread is much better than ours, it's not labeled as something special it's just bread.

Bags are the best for sealing.
