Why private message someone and then ignore the response?

Is it me or us this site getting worse but I don't mean the organisers.

I have been in here for over 5 years during which I have had some great times but recently I have found it frustrating as people just waste your time.

Why would someone choose to message you and then when you reply out of politeness they just ignore you and then block you?

It's just rude and isn't needed, after all if your not interested then fine but a simple no thanks is pure manners.......rant over

"Because they feel the conversation is over?"

If I message someone and get a dull reply I tend to ignore

There will always be time wasters and fake profiles I'm afraid. People who like to lead people on for their bizarre entertainment. Some one nicked my photos to make a fake profile once. But there are lots of fab genuine folk out there. X

It didn't even begin. They asked me if I wanted to meet them and then just ignore my reply. My point being that anyone can have change of heart but politeness costs nothing.

I get a first message saying -

Hi, great profile, nice pictures, fantastic arse .............. so do I

a - ignore.

b - send a thank you message

c -say no thanks you're not my type.

..........

a is rude

b is polite

c the guy has sent a compliment, not asked to meet me, so to me c is not right either.

I send b

Absolutely. But it's just rude.

So many timewasters on here compared to 5 years ago and that let's it down.

I was going to say that, but I was looking for a more tactful way of putting it...

a is not rude, even the site rules confirm this, no one is entitled to a reply just as no one owes anyone else a reply, if someone changes there mind and choose to block, just suck it up and move on.

I always send B too.

It's nice to be nice.

I had a guy message me last night, saying "get well soon" Having never spoken to me before, (he saw my update) I thought it was a really nice thing to go out of his way to say that too me.

Yup, had the same, first message from them, reply positively, nicely, nothing rude or crude and then nothing! Think is something called manners!
