Ladies, in your opinion is winking from a single male worth it? To some it may come across as lazy, but to others it's indicating interest without wanting to pester. Educate me please x

I only click the link to my Winks to delete them. I only pay attention to my inbox.

I like a wink and then if I'm interested I'll send thanks and a chat will be initiated.

Don't mind em, they're flattering to receive. And we like sending then as a cheeky icebreaker.

I never respond to winks because I'm never sure if a guy has winked me cause he likes me or if he's just mass winked every woman on here in hope someone will reply and I don't want to be that someone

It depends how good the avatar is - I will glance over the winks and cherry pick I'm afraid, a message is more likely to get a response. A fab is more likely to get a view actually - because I have to click on the name to see anything.

I don't take offence to someone winking at me, take it as someone showing they are interested, some guys out there are terrified of full blown first contact with single females as when take time to type a message gets deleted without reading! X

I use winks to show interest in people sometimes, and have ended up meeting a few off the back of sending a wink to begin with. I see winks as a positive thing for the site to utilise.

It's a site tool so there to be used. I've not used it much but don't mind people who used it towards me.

An introduction is an introduction how ever big or small. If it leads anywhere that's another thing. All down to personal preferences I guess!

"I only click the link to my Winks to delete them. I only pay attention to my inbox. "

I sent you a wink about 4 weeks ago, 21pions, to indicate that I was interested.

I use winks to indicate interest, for much the same reasons as OP has indicated.

If I receive a wink back, I then follow up with a message.

However, I don't always initiate contact with a wink, and will sometimes begin with a message.

I probably sent a wink instead of a message in your case because you are 30-40 miles away and I was unsure if (as you state you travel but do not accommodate) if you would be willing to travel that distance for a meet.

I'm trying to rely less on winks now in any case.

One question though. Would I be wasting my time messaging you?

I think this is perfect sense I also suggest mass deleting winks is a blunt, prejudgemental and shortsighted approach.

I'd suggest it is ignorant to assume or prejudge any person only based upon them sending a wink ? It wrongly assumes zero people who may send a wink will ever be a compatible sexual companion , and on a site where moaning about suitable men is common place ignoring some due to arbitrary baseless prejudgement could absolutely result in missing a subtle hidden gem x

If you send a message the recipient is going to look at your profile before replying (if indeed they bother to read the message.)

It is for this reason I send winks

Do what you feel is right a wink is less intrusive but easier to ignore.

Thanks all for your responses. The jury is out, but in favour of winking as a polite way of showing interest. I'll continue as is.

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

I don't mind receiving winks they make me smile, however I don't send them I've always thought that if a profile interests me enough to contact them then two or three minutes of my time to compose a message is worthwhile

I actively welcome winks and PMs. Both are rare, but both make me happy (even venomous rants, ha)
