Ever seen someone your own age and thought 'I don't look that old, surely' well.....

Have you ever been guilty of looking at others your own age and thinking, surely I can’t look that old. Well, you’ll love this one….

My name is Alice Smith and I was sitting in the waiting room for my first appointment with a new dentist. I noticed his DDS diploma, which bore his full name. Suddenly, I remembered a tall, handsome, dark-haired boy with that name who had been in the same high school class with me some 30-odd years ago. Could he be the same guy that I had a secret crush on, way back then?

Upon seeing him, however, I quickly discarded any such thought. This balding, gray-haired man with the deeply lined face and pot belly was way too old to have been my classmate.

After he examined my teeth, I asked him if he had attended Morgan Park High School. “Yes. Yes, I did. I’m a Mustang,” He gleamed with pride.

“When did you graduate?” I asked.

He answered, “In 1967. Why do you ask?”

“You were in my class!” I exclaimed.

He looked at me closely. Then, that ugly, old, bald, wrinkled, fat ass, gray-haired, decrepit son-of-a-xxxxx asked me…

“What did you teach?”

I went to a school reunion, saw this guy with a bald head, white hair round the sides, more wrinkles than a pound of tripe etc.

I said to a friend "I can't remember him, what did he teach?".

It turned out he was an old class mate of mine and former school fanny magnet!!! R

I was walking down the street once and saw Billy Roberts and old school friend from primary school, I hadn't seen him in donkeys years but he hadn't changed a bit.

I walked up to him and slapped him on the back saying "Billy you old dog great to see you" but he burst out crying and ran to his mum.

Then it dawned on me that if it was really Billy Roberts he would be much older now and probably look different.

Funny that Jed. I laughed but to be serious when I haven't seen someone for years I image them as they were. So I'd never recognise anyone. Lost contacts are forever young in my head.

I often look at people my own age and think, "Fuck me, you've had a hard life!"

Thought it was just me, I sometimes see a young person who's the spitting image of someone I knew 25 years ago and think it's them.

Then I realise and tell myself to get a grip! R

If people around my age, Jack, contact us, I usually feel ok, as I am quite comfortable with how I look. I've never smoked, so I haven't got the "smokers wrinkles", lol, I still work out regularly and am quite fit, and I think I have a decent physique for a bloke my age. The hair went years ago, but hey, it's been trendy for years to have a shaved head

But.....if a younger couple persuade us to agree to a meet, all sorts of negetive thoughts come into my head. Kate always tries to reassue me, usually with comments like "well **** thinks you're ok, and she's only 29" and she reminds me that I sometimes entertain youger ladies at parties.

I can't help thinking that the age gap is a "visable attribute"

I'm 45, have smoked since I was 9 and have very few wrinkles, a very small fleck of grey at my temples and all my body hair is still dark. If I let my beard grow it's slightly grey on my chin but that's about it.

I've drank loads in my youth and never worked out (I'm a fundamental lazy bastard tbh). Carrying a bit of a mid-drift but lost a stone since xmas - 2 more to go.

Can be verified at Chams in August lol

I was on the bus a couple of years ago and I noticed a bloke looking at me and smiling.

I broke into a smile too: "John Smith" I said. "Jane Doe" he replied.

We both got chatting, catching up on old times, both agreeing the other hadn't changed a bit.

The last time we'd seen each other? July 1972!!

I think I'm aging well, not a line or wrinkle in sight and nothing drooping...well, not from the neck up, but blimey, the blokes my age do look old!

Good thing I like the Tommy Lee Jones/Clint Eastwood look, but to be fair they ARE old!
