I would think it would be wrong if a child went to a parents wedding and didn't take a card & present.

Was it their father / step mother who commented or a friend/family member?

It depends on the present.

Something thoughtful by the kids = right.

A voodoo doll for new wife = wrong. Funny, but wrong.

I don't understand how his children getting him and his new wife a card and present means you have intruded on their day

Ask him for it back and never send him a birthday/xmas or fathers day gift from the kids again, that's what id do

Wow he sounds nasty.

I never got my ex anything from the kids when he remarried. I would have if they asked though but they never. Even birthday ect I don't get anything unless they specifically ask.

I think it very ignorant fir him to refuse a gift from his children because you bought it.

Next time tell them no and say why.

Make sure your kids are ok, that they are not upset and they understand they did nothing wrong.

Then just fuck the mind games off. You ain't gonna win, so don't play the game.

So how else were his children going to buy him a present? they get their money from mum not from a job where they earn their own money.

Sounds like an absolute pillock, and he has feelings of guilt for abandoning his kids, their present probably made him feel like the absolute Ba***rd he is, but he couldn't have a go at them so he chose you instead.

He should be more of an adult and keep things in perspective, if the kids want to send something to their dad then let them, don't upset them by getting them to take sides in an argument between you and him.

Take the moral high ground and say nothing, they will discover what he is by themselves.

If he has returned things you have bought in the past I would guess you had a good idea he would be the same with this. In hindsight maybe it wasn't a good idea and you know from now on just not to bother.
