Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I bumped into a woman who was in my class at secondary school. She recognised me instantly even though we haven't seen each other in 32 years.

She said my face and hair are the same.

A primary school teacher recognised me in a shop too.

So would you be recognised by those from the very dim and distant past or have you changed?

You must do as this isn't someone who saw you day in day out as in my case.

In fairness you are the same height as when you were 9

No, I had a growth spurt at 10 to get to these lofty heights.

So it seems yes....we went to a funeral this week. It was a long time friends funeral and his relatives I hadn't seen for well over 30 years said I hadn't changed a bit..... I don't know if that is worrying or not though, as it might mean I have lived in a time warp and still look like I should be in the 80's

I thought that too. Then I remembered it's all a bit 80s now.

My friend posted on FB a set of photo booth pictures (the original selfie lol) of me & her & whilst I thought I'd changed a lot of the years, facially I haven't at all.

which backs up the fact that people always recognise me.

I've seen a couple of pics of me taken in the late 80s/early 90s. All I can say is I wish I still looked like that.

Anyway, I wear glasses now, so that takes care of any old school 'friends' recognising me.

Yes me and the wife were out the other week and a girl I went to school with recognised me straight away, which was a massive shock because I'm 7 inches taller than I was at school and I had a massive ginger beard which I didn't have at school,

I get recognised by people who were in my year at school. Sometimes it's embarrassing as I have no clue who they are - I'm rubbish at recollecting names ! I get told my face hasn't changed (they must have lost their specs)!

Brighton - even Hove!

My hair is greying and I'm a lot taller, other than that, not much apparently although I've looked at photos of myself and can see an echo of my current self there but not much actual resemblance.

Titz Towers, North Notts

It totally depends on what night of the week it is. I did see an old friend the other week who recognised me instantly, but I tend to stick in people's minds for a long time for some reason even in drab mode.

Incidentally, this did dissuade me from a possible career as a serial killer, despite the plentiful opportunities to improve the gene pool in Mansfield. Also the pension sucked, too.

Not sure, but I suspect that some of my friends from school would recognise me, inspite of not having seen each other for a few decades.

Mind you, the last time I met a member for staff from school they couldn't get away fast enough, oops

I wonder if we reach an age where we achieve our look and the basics don't change after that.

The school friend yesterday made me laugh when I pointed out that I am double the size I was back then. She just said "you must like carbs" and she is right.
