Social night out

Hi I own a bar in Stockport what has a function room that holds 175 I was thinking of putting on a night where swinging couples and select singles could meet not to have sex but a social drink and chat and to meet new friends to take things further at a later date

Bit of fun would be ok and a DJ on

Looking for idears on this

Please send me any thoughts

Going to put some thought into this

This would be a great night I know that in the week is harder for people to get there but if there was some naughty goings on it would be more private not open to public

Come on what would you want there

Food entertainment ect this could be a monthly or quartley thing

Have a check of the local budget hotels and if you can find a weekend when the prices are low then that's the one to pick. Give people plenty of time to plan ahead too. You're not supposed to post hotel info on the forums so have it all in a saved message and copy it to everyone who shows an interest.

Don't post the location or give the details out too early, there are idiots on here who will blabber and you don't want problems with the local press. Run a guestlist and two weeks to ten days before send out confirmation messages then a week or so before send venue info to all who have confirmed.

Do some research into local parking too so people can park who aren't staying or, if the budget hotels nearby don't have free parking, can park till the next morning.

Hosting a social can be hard work but also great fun.

A buffet and music for dancing is all you really need. You can ask for a few quid a head to cover that and people are happy to pay.

Make sure there are quieter spots for people to chat and somewhere for smokers which isn't too far. Oh and reasonably priced beer and wine!

one in york on December 5th

It's A great idea but I'd keep outlay low to start with, as the turn up rate is lower than confirmation rate typically. Where no money is paid upfront.

Perhaps have it as completely open attendance to start with. You can collect names and some contact info off attendees for future.

If you assume most cheap hotel rooms are booked at least 2weeks in advance and are not refundable then it gives you time to plan and promote.

Keep venue info private except for guaranteed attendees, as you can give area info and suggested hotels as a guide.

It's better to have small than to cancel as people could lose hotel cash.

Great feed back will b looking for this night in november.

It will be a wed ,thurs or Sunday night there will be a charge to cover food DJ security ect but it kept to a min and it will paid up front we know how many will be there and going to limit numbers

This is going to b massive
