Just come home from work to find the kitchen and dining room flooded. Washing machine has thrown a wobbly. In trying to fix it I have just sprayed water everywhere lol and now soaking.

Oh well the plumber will have a good weekend with what he will be charging to fix it

Turn off the taps that supply the machine directly, empty it and run the spin cycle. Sometimes works.

Turned the cut off valve but in doing so also broke it! Have managed to empty the machine and washing now in a damp pile in the bath waiting to be redone.

Many parts in a washer aren't hard to sort. Pumps, motors and hoses are easier to sort than changing a car tyre. Do the electrics still work on it?

Think I have managed to find the fault (should read the instructions more often - but then again which male will admit to reading instructions).

The pump at the bottom of the machine was blocked - all I had to do was take it out and clean it. Still have a broken cut off valve though. Will swap it for the one on the dishwasher for now until I can get a replacement.

Oh well I live and learn.
