Get married in October or November, it will be cheaper and then you could rent a cottage somewhere in the countryside

There are some luxury homes with jacuzzis on the sure of a lake in the Lake District.... They look lovely on the net... I saw them on eBay... Even have access to a little boat.

There's a sexy cottage somewhere in the Cotswolds I think, sex swing etc installed, if that's your thing.

If not, a beautiful cottage with hot tub etc like another poster has suggested

Don't want to sound like a horrible bastard but cheap and wedding don't really go

Wen me and the mrs got wed at 18 I sold my car motorbike and pretty much everything I had to give her the best day I could it was far from posh and fancy but we went all out with our budget

I'm just saying don't try to do it cheap aim for the day you want and do everything in your power to archive it end of the day it's the woman you clearly love

My wedding cost me £200 thank god really as the marriage only lasted a few years..I have a family member who is semi famous in the football world and his wedding must of cost £100,000 and they lasted 3 years. I think you can have a beautiful wedding for pretty much nothing, it's about being creative...

National Trust / English Heritage site ~ amazing properties in beautiful locations.

Scottish Castle on a Loch

walking holiday in The Lake District

can't go wrong with Cornwall..cottages / hotels / surfing / seafood.

Hire a RV / VW Campervan & do a driving tour of the UK

what's the pretty place in Wales called ~ Port Merion?!

There was a thread on here a while ago and someone posted about remote log cabins/villas in the lake district, 'ideal for couples' as they have real fires, jacuzzis, room service etc - not sure on the price but when I looked them up online they looked amazing, just wish I could remember the name……..

What's your budget?

For between £250-£400 you can get a nice property on the north coast of Scotland....great beaches for nice walks and peat fires after....

Loch Lomond is lovely.....variety of prices......for £400 a few days in nice lodge at cameron house would be special.....

Gretna green is a dump.....do not go there!

Lakes are nice.....

DUmfRies and Galloway is lovely and has clear sky status if you like star gazing....

You can cross the border in about 6 hours from you..... Or fly then hire a car.....

It's worth the journey

Black Isle is spectacular, pod of dolphins in the Moray firth, they can be seen just yards off the shore at Channory point....Nessie is close by too...although rumour has it, she left prior to the referendum and is currently in the lake district

My fiancé proposed to me at the top of a flight of locks. I've never been on a narrow boat but have always wanted to so I asked him if he minded if we did that for our honeymoon......he was gonna suggest the same thing

I'm not sure if you are meant to name actual sites on here so message me if you want the details but there is an amazing glamping site. They have loads of quirky places to go to all over the country. One was a little hut in a valley by a small stream. Totally private, perfect for a honeymoon. It had it's own log fired outdoor hot tub, sadly it was not available on the dates we wanted. There are some really unusual places,a converted helicopter, a bus even a gypsy caravan complete with horse and driver (is it a driver with a horse?). They turn up in the morning, take you to the next stopping point and then leave you to your own devices.

I would love to try one of the treehouses, maybe next year.

We hired a secluded shepherds hut with it's own private lake. Collecting wood during the day, leisurely lunches and naked nights under the stars with only the candles and firelight. Perfect for a honeymoon.

It worked for us but then I can get a little loud when carried away so hotel rooms aren't always ideal

Not necessarily, ours was about £80 a night. We combined it with a couple of nights at eureka. We cooked for ourselves (there was even a log fired pizza oven) and hardly ventured away from our little camp, so we barely spent any extra there at all.
