Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

A man who has trialled the pill is on Woman's Hour now.

Men, would you take a pill? Do you trust women on the pill?

Women, would you trust men to take the pill?

Nothing is 100% apart from abstinence and most sterilisation. I'm only confident that I can't get pregnant now as I don't have the kit anymore.

I got the snip last year ... best male contraception ever ... as for the female pill, it works as long as the woman does not want to get pregnant and makes sure she takes the pill religiously every day - a (vanilla) friend of mine has 4 kids because his wife on the pill often "forgot" to take it.

(Him)

That's the issue with trusting the contraceptive to one person.

I am glad though that they are looking at it as an option . I struggled in my 20's to find a contraception that suited me. The pill and mini pill gave me horrendous side affects. If I was in a relationship and my partner would take it, I'd be more than happy.

That was how the man who was interviewed started on the trial.

I wouldn't trust a man to remember to take a pill daily. I struggled to remember when I was on the pill.

Always favoured a more permanent and reliable solution, so had the snip as soon as I became fully sexually active.

That's a huge decision to take young. How did you persuade them to do it?

"Most men on here will swallow anything. "

Is that the lines of "I can't get pregnant" or something more tangible?

I'd take the pill, but I wouldn't expect anyone to believe me, I'd just take it as extra peace of mind for me that I was unable to accidentally produce babies.

In a serious relationship I would trust him to take it. At the end of the day it's him that gets hit with a baby and maintenance if he forgets. Wonder how many husbands will be secretly taking it though because there not ready for children and haven't got the balls to tell their wife's?

You should be on the tele, you have a knack of explaining things so easily.

Thanks yes. I would appear on embarrassing bodies and with an interview with Christian and explain the pill live to the public lol.

There's a twist I hadn't thought of but one that might make some men go on the pill.

I heard the only successful male pill is actually put inside your shoe. Apparently it just makes you limp

wonder how many would claim to take it and assume bareback is now back on the menu in NSA play, completely ignoring the risk STI's...

WHO classes various forms of anabolic steroids as effective contraceptives for men.

But then again Ronnie Coleman has like half a dozen kids so clearly not perfect lol
