At least Corrie only lasts 30 minutes per night viewing.

Football seems to be the nations addiction and its overdosing on it.

We both HATE football and totally agree it should be on its own channel instead of bumping other programmes off as if every person alive wants to watch it. WE DONT!!

There's loads of television channels to choose from. Or you could watch a DVD of your choice, or download a TV show of your liking. Or listen to the wireless.

Thank you! Back to back soaps and Gameshows most of the year and every other night, one night a week absolute tops the football is shown on the terrestrial channels and the Corrie / Eastenders / Emmerdale / Home & Away / Neighbours etc fans get in their soapboxes!!

Can't stand football, but I struggle to understand why it is an issue that it's on TV. How many channels do most people have these days? If missing Corry or Eastenders because football was on caused me angst I'd be taking a serious look at what was missing in my life

It's called money. That's how football works. A Channel has to buy the rights for broadcasts a game. One channel simply can not afford the billions it would cost to show all football.

Just wondering where this saturation of football is as most of it is shown on pay tv, sky or BT. Only a few Euro cup games, fa cup or internationals on free channels as far as I can see

Incidentally. The same channel shows live rugby with Gaelic on Friday. Recently it was Edinburgh v ??????? at an almost empty Murrayfield.

A dedicated channel wouldn't keep football off the other channels, after all Sky have a dedicated Sports channel for Formula 1 and cannot shut up about blinking football on that (and no I don't mean the ads they gabber on about it in the programs).

Tell me about it. Bloody hate footy. Or anything sports related to be honest. I'm not much of a spectator but voyeurism is different (to a degree).

My sporty days have gone past me i think. Now i just like to pick heavy objects up and put them back down again; and repeat.

Agree

The only channels that have football saturation are sky sports and BT sports, and you pay a subscription for those so if you want football 24/7 you have to pay extra for it. The only footy on freeview is fa cup, champions league, europa league and international matches when they come around, match of the day on saturday night, football on freeview gets a lot less airtime than soaps for example.

Things are put on telly when there is clear demand for it, if there was no demand and ratings were low the football would not be shown.

Now i hate X Factor and Britains got talent, i have a very simple solution to avoid it,......i turn the channel over.
