I lost a friend today

I lost a friend today and I'm confused and it doesn't at all make sense. Here one minute, gone the next. How can that be?

Not really sure why I'm here telling this.

Am still adjusting 3 years after my best pal passed away.

Remember everything, not just the good times. It was that ability to share everything that made them special. So remember it.

its been a bad year and with stuff going on its not ending well either on the loss front..

its hard and the questions about 'why them, at that age' wont be answered so we plod on and get on with things..

which is what they would say to us and we do in their memory..

Been through this a few times myself some friends some family. Never easy. People say time is a healer. It isn't. Time just helps us to learn to live with the loss. Cherish the memories hun. Big hugs. I'm a good listener if you need someone to chat to. Xxx

I lost a friend a couple of years ago, totally unexpected.......still after all this time I firget & go to text her.

There is no rhyme or reason as to why these things happen. You will go through various stages before you come to an acceptance of your loss. Talking about it....where ever and who ever that is with, it's a great help.

I don't know you, but I offer my condolences and thoughts at this horrible time

Yea, it just does not compute at all when young people die, it always feels wrong.

Our young friend did not get into Uni and came to work for us for her year out. She was killed in a car crash on the way into work in the first week - that felt like all kinds of hell ...'If only...'

I still have occasional quiet tearful moments after losing my best mate of over 30 years before Christmas last year. Not a day goes by without thinking about him. Time helps, enormously, and the good memories do offer some comfort, but unfortunately it's the cycle of life...and the good ones always seem to go first.

You have my deepest sympathy. Don't be afraid to talk about your loss, and don't be too proud to cry occasionally either.

I don't know you but it's always so sad to hear of someone losing a friend whatever age they may be, it hurts. Honestly, it will hurt for what seems like forever but, its kind of true what they say about "time heals" it never makes it go away but it makes it so much easier to bear and you can think of them with smiles instead of tears.

Lost my best friend a couple of years ago. He had a fall and ended up in hospital. His wife phoned me to say they found a tumour on his lung: that was the Tuesday.

I told her I'd see him on Saturday as they lived out of London. He died the Friday . One of the few people who truly loved me in a pure way that even his wife wasn't threatened or jealous.

We travelled in the Hearst together...miss him every day...sorry for your loss.

Hard thing to deal with. Lost a good mate when I was 15 and didnt get over it til I was about 22. Lost another mate when I was around 23. I was older and had went though it before and was able to deal with it that time

I lost a very close friend 6 months ago and another the year before. It's very hard to deal with but will get a bit easier over time especially if like in my case you have mutual friends that you can laugh and remember the good times with. Big hugs x

The shock of losing someone unexpectedly will wear off. You have to grieve and share your pain. After a while you will feel better and be able to focus on the good times you had. Good people leave a little hole in your life,you have to fill it with colour and not let the darkness overtake you

Sorry to hear that. I lost a friend at the age of 17. Woke up after a night out to find our she'd been murdered. Never truly got over it but it got easier to desk with and now I just think she's waiting patiently for when we get to see each other again.
