Judging a book by its cover

Do you ever try and guess what the person looks like by their user name or by their posts in the forums before you look ?

How often are you right ?

If you have meet them does their image match their personality ?

I've met one forum regular so far. I thought he was stunning in real life, especially in colour rather than black and white! The image did match the personality, although that's going on messages and chats as well as forum posts.

Having meet a fair few forum regulars I admit I have been surprised by some , the one that sticks in my mind the most is our very own 2wheels. I was terrified of meeting him but in fact he is a huge big cuddly bear but ssssshhh he won't like me telling you lot.

Not the forums.. I haven't been using them long enough and only use them to chat.. On fab itself I always do.. They never turn out as expected and that's why i don't judge a book by its cover.. Has happened too many times with me too.. Im much better in person then my pic.. Im not photogenic at all.. Some were born behind a lense.. Take everyone's looks with a pinch of salt x

Do this all the time, both on and off the site. Very rarely accurate though

Have met a fair few forum users. Have to admit most of them.. Whom I hadn't seen face pictures of, looked absolutely nothing like I'd envisaged.

The problem with first impressions is that you only get one shot at making them.

So having said that

The camera absolutely hates me!

I prefer to read a profile and the general tone of messages. Having said that as I have only just recently embraced the forums, I have got chatting to some lovely people who may not have chatted otherwise!

In the middle

I have had the pleasure of meeting a few off the forum and I have to say they all exceeded their online persona, there are a few more I would really like to meet as their humour is off the scale

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I have found some to be nuttier or more sensible than I expected but never in a bad way.

Some have looked nothing as I expected and others exactly as I imagined them.

I look forward to meeting some more on Friday and seeing if they look as I imagine them.

I find it hard to judge someone on what they say on here or in private messages and I don't think I come across well either, I need to see their reactions or body language while chatting and them to see mine,

I was planning to go to Xtasia on Friday but a football match Saturday afternoon has got in the way

I always imagine looks and voices. I often get it wrong. Spoke to a guy on the phone recently , told him he sounded better than I'd expected - it came out wrong ! At least he laughed!

Don't like to judge but i do build up pictures of some posters. Not completely from what they post about but through their tone and how they interact with others.

Whether it's a true reflection of how they come across face to face remains to be seen.

Yes I always picture in my head what I think regular forumites look like. That's why I have enjoyed some of the face pics threads..some have really suprised me while others have looked pretty much like what I expected.

Only met one couple from the forum and were not disappointed. They were lovely and one of them wasn't half as grumpry as we expected.
