I've done this a few times, but ended up enjoying the rest of the album anyway, the last one was U2s Artificial Horizon, triple vinyl limited edition, bought for one particular live track only but the rest of its is pretty darn good too.

The only time was:- "Thick as a Brick" by Jethro Tull, (but I suppose thats not unusual as the whole album was 1 song).

"nah....but did buy an album for the cover sleeve artwork "

I used to do that when I was a kid - Top of The Pops albums, they were 75p each, non of the songs were done by the original artists, but the cover always featured a scantily clad female, usually with big tits, so nice artwork, crap music, but it was the only way I could 'legally' get a mucky picture into the house with my parents 'approval'

I've done that with a couple of U2s vinyls, one of them being the 12" pressing of their first ever 3 tracks recorded, simply called U2 Three, only 500 ever made, so quite a good investment I think

All the time - have so many 70's compilations now that to buy another means already having all the songs bar one about six times!

Once bought a double album for one song on it but the last one in recent times was a cheap world cup anthems CD to get wait for it.....

Harry Secombe singing Nessun Dorma (and a mighty fine job he makes of it too).

Can't say I've ever done that although I've bought a CD for the artwork which is a far worse crime!!

I bet plenty of people bought Babylon Zoo - The Boy with the X-Ray Eyes because of the infamous 'Spaceman' track. The power of Levi's adverts!!!

Which, as I recall, wasn't quite like the upbeat version of the tune used on the actual advert? Levis conned us all!

Back in the 80's did that quite a bit but now in the age of downloads can be selective .. tho that may mean missing out on a great album track you would not usually hear on the radio
