i told my friendsi was in a relationshp the other day and all i got was 'really!!!!!' as if to say 'if you can find someone why the hell am i single??!!'

one of my very good friends just keeps saying 'i dont get it!!' when i tell him about all the guys i meet lol but i know he is messing so thats ok

and yes i get that from parents as well - mainly cos they hope that when i settle down i will stop sponging off them lol

I'm 52 and my mother still calls me her free spirit and such a shame I'm on my own as I have so much to give, I should live it up a little more (????)

My daughter on the other hand thinks I should really settle down and be a proper grandmother to her child (????) whatever I do in my family's eyes I can't do right for doing wrong.

O o O oo

Sadly my mum isn't here anymore, but the OH mum is. We had her over to stay for a few days, and when it got towards 10.30 we were told we really needed to go to bed as it was late and when the OH said he wanted to watch the end of the film, she called him disobedient.....and she was serious I couldn't stop laughing

Hands up those who have spent half their lives trying to avoid growing up like Mum and/or Dad?

On the other hand, you will miss em when they're no longer about.

And remember they grew up in totally different times and cultures to us, maybe wars, rationing, national service etc?

if you liked yer barman too much, you could end up settling down, which would please yer Ma and Pa no end.

thinking about it we could do with a tick box on our profiles. Forget boxes such as anal, bareback, orgies etc

Just have a tick box that says : DEFINITELY not into settling down.
