Working mens clubs

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone could shed some light on this......a bunch of us goes out on New Years Eve around the village where we grew up. We always end up in the local Working Mens Club for the last couple of hours.

This year, a couple of the kids of a few couples want to come with. They will be 17 yrs old. Does anyone know if they are allowed in pubs/clubs even if they are not drinking alcohol?

i don't think they are to be fair but they let ppl in who are underage so worth a shout

If English law applies usually ok if they're not drinking but check as working men's clubs are sometimes licensed as private and different by laws can apply

Good question.

Not so much nowadays but when i used to frequent them i've often seen whole swathes of kids in them.

You local council licensing department would know, or indeed the clubs themselves.

I don't know working men's clubs are like now but when we where kids it was very family orientated we used to go down on a Saturday night with my dad

It depends on their licence, pub I worked in had over 18's only so didnt matter if they were having soft drinks it wasnt possible to serve them

Many pubs/clubs change the rules new years eve, and have a 'no under 18's ' policy after a certain time.. I'd be inclined to check out the venue where you want to end up . . .
