Perhaps ..after the dust has settled..England N.Ireland and Wales can have a referendum on whether we want the smelly socks as part of our union.

We are certainly not. If you switched over to the other tv broadcasts from around the world you would see that they have been saying so many good things about it all.

I haven't seen anything to suggest Scotland is now a laughing stock, quite the opposite. Voting to stay part of one of the most powerful and successful unions in history, with more devolved powers already being implemented and more to follow...sounds like this right decision to me! (Unless you're bothered about the opinion of somewhere like North Korea...)

Does anyone really really care. It feels like it's been going on for years. Scotland should have played braveheart on a big screen on loop in every shopping centre in Scotland and they would have demo voted to leave.

Forgot about Balamory the kids used to love that. I hated the stupid programme myself (honestly)

I'm pleased with the result. But I think there has been a lot if ill feeling stirred up and I hope this hasn't caused a long standing divide in the Scottish people.

Also I've heard some shocking uninformed anti-English sentiment coming out of this debate so hopefully that will subside otherwise I feel this while exercise could cause a lot of lasting damage to the Union

If you asked 100 people if they like you Yes or No then draft in all your family to tell them all how great you are at the same time as offering gifts to say yes and only 55 say yes. Why would you be jumping with joy

But the UK has never been united. politics is one thing but the real test is morals and helping each other. some people do not even know who lives next door to them. I think we should look at our own values really. I know it is not everyones cup of tea

"mite de a great day for britain not for me i am heartbroken and ashamed to call myself scottish today,we are now the laughing stock of the world."

if the scots are a laughing stock its only due to the fact they voted that absolute twat salmond as 1st leader.

I got pissed off seeing his smug self satisfied sickly grin on th TV and will take immense satisfaction watching him eat humble pie.

On a more sad note i think Andy Murray made a mistake supporting the yes vote feel he would have been better staying quiet i felt he matured from his outbursts in his younger days but now hes declared his hand i wont be supporting him any longer he didnt want to be british with all the support that gave him he wsnts to be scottish so now he can stick with salmond ill now cheer on anyone he plays rather than him

Looking at the geographical concentration of Yes votes in .. well, Glasgow, maybe there's a case for letting Glasgow go to become an independent country like Andorra, San Marino, Monaco.

As an independent tax haven with cheap fags and booze and tourism ....

I see that the value of the pound has gone up this morning.

Must be something to do with the Buckie exports being safe.
