I bet you never thought this would be about giant spiders

----------------------------------------

Giant spiders set to invade UK homes this autumn, warn experts

Scientists warn mild weather throughout the summer has led the arachnids to grow bigger than ever - just in time for mating season

Britain's homes will be invaded by giant spiders in the coming weeks.

That's the view of experts, who say rising temperatures during summer have led to the arachnids growing bigger than ever.

The mild summer has meant the arthropods have thrived.

And with the temperature set to fall, experts from Sydney University have warned the house spiders will be heading indoors in the coming weeks to find a mate.

I have noticed lots of the big stripy ones which I've never seen before. Lucky so far they are all in the garden...when they appear in the house it will be time to panic!

Please send your rottie down to give ours a lesson in spider control, he is currently hiding under the dining table after a big one ran across his bed!

My daughter came across one of those in her room above her head. I tentertively sqashed it.

Was going to clean it up but she insisted I leave it as a warning to others. Come near and you're next hahaha

That's it I'm investing in some steel toe capped boots.. My dog is that old that if I shout at her to get the spider, she just raises one eyebrow as if to say get it yourself :/
