Oops, No preference as to location. Its her 90th birthday so l want to splash out a bit. Probably within 150 miles of me, which is near Chester.

Crown Spa Hotel in Scarborough is nice and not expensive either.

Château Rhianfa on Anglesey is nice too and a nice area too.

I like Windermere suites in the lakes best though if it was for me.

Bulkely Hotel in Beaumaris, Anglesey is really excellent. Will treat you like Royalty and much to see in the area. Not cheap but not over the top...excellent value!

Have you considered a holiday cottage ?

There are some cracking ones out there for those with mobility issues.

I have similar needs when I take my olds away and mum prefers a cottage to a hotel cos there is space to take all her aids and she doesn't av to worry about gettin other peoples way (her words)

Then again, Dad sulks cos in a hotel he would get a brekkie cooked for him every day.

Ya can't win em all

Thanks for all the suggestions. I know the north wales ones are lovely but a little to close. Up that way all the time. Scarborough sounds lovely, thank you for that one. Still looking if any more ideas about,

Carlisle Dumfries France

How about Harrogate. Not quite as far as Scarborough but v v nice. Take her to Betty's Tearooms - famous and vv good.

And for a hotel, http://www.ruddingpark.co.uk/

I've stayed there a couple of times - not for swinging though - and it is great. The staff will look after your mum famously.
