Is it ethical???

Job hunting is getting crazy....the jobs I am qualified to do...I am being told I am nit qualified enough

For all others I am being told I am TOO qualified

I've just applied for a job, and have doctored my CV and not included a whole raft of qualifications, and have re written it so as to include all my experience and skills in such a way that does not allude to the qualifications.

IF I get an interview I can then bring up my qualifications if I have to.

I was just sat her wondering if this ethical?

eh, you do what you do to get the interview mate, its bloody hard work looking for a job, I've been there, and yes, you do need to adjust things to suit the position your applying for in hope that you would at least get an interview.

Just the way it is, some put a Wage to Qualifications, if you have too many they think you will be there short term

You shouldn't have to dumb down to get a job. Leave your CV as it is but just tell them you've had a mental breakdown and forgotten all of it now.

when applying for a job tell them whats relevant to the post you are applying for............better to have skills in reserve for impressing them with at the interview........good luck x

You shouldn't have to dumb down you qualifications.

Just make sure you read the person specification and match your skills and experience to that in the order it comes. Don't worry about repeating yourself: stress how you meet the criterial they're looking for.

You'd be surprised how many applications I've seen where the applicant puts "I can do this job" without showing how!

I hope this doesn't come across as a "thats easy for you to say" comment or patronising either.

As someone who's been in recruitment and an employer for the past 18 years its my advice to show all your relevant qualifications and go for the job you deserve. Dumbing down your CV and taking what you can get now may feel like your only option and I don't know your personal circumstances or specialisation, but if you can possibly hold out the ideal job could be just around the corner.

Its also a lot to do with self belief and confidence and I know that can get knocked or suppressed over time, but there's nothing wrong with recognising your worth and expecting it too.

I don't want to break any rules on here by suggesting job boards or names etc. drop me a mail and I'll give you my best shot.

A close friend, out of desperation dumbed down and took a call centre job she hated, I convinced her to quit before it sat on her CV or she got stuck there, within 6 weeks she had a national sales managers job, car, pension etc.

Stick at it, keep pushing
