The Right Hon. Baron Prescott just entered the house of lords.

He got a bloody baronet for whalloping a reporter, or is this the tidiest way of shuffling him off where he can't do anymore harm?

John Prescott going to the Lords has to be the biggest joke out, and the most pathetic.

What's happened to all his principled, 'equal rights for the workers' stuff now??

I used to think the House of Lords was neccessary to balance out the House of Commons but this appointment has changed my opinion of that. If a complete moron like Prescott can be made a Lord then it's a title that isn't worth the effort it takes to make his ermine robe.

I'm now in favour of scrapping the House of Lords altogether, and I guess I must have been leaning towards scrapping it for some time as a pillock like Prescott wouldn't be enough to turn my opinion alone - he was just the catalyst.
