Did it about 3 years ago, never got a case to sit on, just sat in the jury room reading magazines and drinking tea for a week....Very boring x 3, lol.

Yes, it was an unpleasant case, and despite being horrified by the lack of the ability of the average person to distinguish fact from supposition, and their using emotional rather than rational thinking, in this case, I believe the verdict was correct.

I'd hate to be on the stand with a bunch of circumstantial evidence against me, I'd have no confidence in the jury to arrive at a rational, balanced and considered verdict

Ugh, one man on our jury argued the definition of "sure" and "certain". Luckily, a majority decision was accepted and he never reached a verdict.

Yep. Likewise very boring. Just get settled in seat then have to leave the courtroom whilst something was being spoken about, then back in again, then out again. Lots of tea and biscuits though. Took a few minutes to decide on the verdict

Yeah, they get really cross about that sort of thing. I think one happened while I was there, or just before, and it was declared a mistrial.

I did, five years ago.

The first few days were boring, attended the courts and had one plead guilty before we were chosen, and we were sent home.

The second day we had a Fail to Appear, and again sent home ...

The third day I was chosen to sit on a murder trial !!

Three of the most fascinating weeks I've ever spent. And I'm glad to say justice was served

Years ago my father got called up for jury service. He couldn't attend he was servicing a 2 yr prison sentence.

I did it one time, every bit of evidence was lies and circumstance, no physical evidence produced at all, only one person gave evidence that put the person on the spot, I got some time for that, framed and im bloody sure of that.

I did it in June this year. I really enjoyed it. I was surprised how emotional I got because even though I know it was the correct verdict, I felt as though I had ruined a young man's life as the sentence was lengthy but hey, he shouldn't have been so stupid and got involved in the first place.
