Invictus Games & Prosthetics

How amazing are the Invictus Games for injured servicemen & women, just watched the recumbent cyclists come over the line together. Such a great team.

The Prosthetics are phenomenal - just watching that some of the legs have Bluetooth technology. Another guy has an arm controlled by his brain.

One guy who has lost both legs was saying how frustrated he gets with people who have their legs , not using them and not being active.

I've felt humbled by their stories. Certainly puts the little things in life into perspective !

I find the whole concept self-aggrandising, and ultimately meaningless.

A bit like this thread really.

Ohhh, i do apologise - i wasn`t aware this thread was just for kiss-asses.

There are people ``overcoming adversity and striving to achieve greatness`` everywhere without fawning BBC TV coverage and cost.

The difference being the competitive sport nature of the Invictus Games. Stop being miserable.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I've enjoyed watching the games. I enjoyed the Para games too.

Prosthetic technology has really come on in the last few years. People can really become bionic now.

Basically, that's every televised sporting endeavour isn't it? We've got months of the same with the football and the rugby.
