6+3 and 5+4 in Sept (base 7)=12 and 11 in Oct (base 8) p-code is base 8, java uses p-code

So what respect should one give to a person that strongly asserts that in base 10 2+2 = 9

It can also be said

Yes, but 6+2 doesn't equal 9, so I'm afraid not everybody's way of doing something is the right way, and if it can be easily shown to be wrong, then there is no need to respect it.
