"Its on the bbc website but I didnt click the link. I have no problems with facebook putting a stop to girls using 'mummy' or other words as a middle name. We know your a Mum, you keep posting pictures of your 'little man'. By the way, little men are still 'boys' they have been since year dot. If a drag/tv wants to use their drag/tv name, let them." ![]()

" you can call yourself by any name you wish - You dont legally have to use the name on your passport or License for anything other than theyre intended as long as you dont use the name for unlawful purposes. ![]() 'According to a report, performer Sister Roma, whose legal ID actually reads Michael Williams, found herself locked out of her account with a prompt asking that her profile name be changed to the legal one as it "appears on your driver's license or credit card," as per Facebook's official real-name policy. This was the first such request Roma had seen since opening her Facebook account in 2008. When she complied to reopen her Facebook page, she wasn't asked to confirm her name via an ID card—"They seem to know my real name already," she said in an e-mail interview Now, if that is true, this is where it becomes 'dangerous' community wise, especially in light of this statement 'When asked to comment, a Facebook representative ... did confirm that its action against Sister Roma and other drag performers came as the result of community reports about their names' So if you guys here do have a beef with the facebook mummies, now is the time get dobbing 'em in ![]()

"Theres no way on earth if I even had a fb account id be giving them passport or driving license details Who the fuck do they think they are? They havent asked for mine or anyone I know" Nor mine and I also use an alias albeit it sounds like a 'real name' That is kind of the point tho, drag artists are, I assume, easier to le out as not using a genuine name. So is their experience merely the tip of the iceberg ?

"My god! Well have to start talking on the phone and sending "letters" to keep in touch! # shock! ![]() Oh please. Its the 21st century and some people below a certain age don't know any way to communicate apart from using social media sites. Are you seriously telling us that you issue cardboard invitations for every pint out you arrange? FB has its place, as do phones, letters, and sky-writing. But we are allowed to complain about FB while taking advantage of its features.

"Crystal, I didn't think children were allowed accounts on facebook?" Minimum age is 13. But the point remains valid for non age related crimes.

There were a few tears but I didn't give in with FB until they were thirteen. Now they wouldn't dream of going on it because that's what the fogeys use.
