Most of the people I really like and would love to meet are too far away, sometimes I wonder if fate is conspiring against me. Anyone else? Got me thinking, what's the furthest you'd travel to meet someone for the first time?

Yep, its a swinging desert in York (well, for me anyway) but I see loads of gorgeous guys in London and further South.

I have travelled to London for a meet, but that's because its two hours down the East Coast Mainline. People in less accessible areas are harder to meet.

I feel a bit stuck out on the edge down here, especially more so when I joined fab and realized there were adult sex clubs! The thought had just never occurred to me! Then the realization they are all located in the golden triangle of Birmingham, Leeds, Nottingham

All the great people that I talk to are all so far away. If really is a shame as I know we'd have a great time. I have met a few of them when the timing has been right, which was amazing.

I took a trip down to oxford way not long ago. Best thing I ever did.

I totally agree, most of my hot list are over 100 miles away

I've actually travelled about 240 miles for a meet

Some of the people apart from being too far away have meet some real stunners so I can never understand why they have messaged me in the first place .I cant travel far as I rely on public transport as have time limits because of being home for the kids.

I travel a lot for work. I get to see a fair amount of the country. So it's great if I can mix business with pleasure.

Worked out it would be nearly a 900 mile round trip to meet up with a certain lady on here. So the chances of that happening are minimal.

The nearest to me that has mutual attraction is about 50 miles. You would think London would be easy. Far too much else going on here for swinging

I cannot travel due to my personal circumstances. But with forward planning i would travel and meet halfway and stay in a hotel. But i have been very fortunate, as some guys iv met have travelled as far as wales to meet me.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. Same with forum regulars - I know we'd have a great chance of chemistry or getting on, but they're too far away.

I do travel with work but I feel rude suggesting meeting as I'm 'in town' for the night etc

Most of the guys i really fancy getting to know live all over the country... i have travelled around 250 miles one way to meet someone, and will be heading to Northampton and Kent over the next two months x

Just where I need to be.

Guys that have interested me all tend to be London or Midlands. Have had meets that have travelled 100miles+. Very few men around my area.

If two people really want to meet each other then they will always find a way. I have have a fab friend who very often makes a 4 hour round trip to see me. I think if someone is worth meeting people will put the effort in.

There are no clubs in Nottingham, the local authority won't allow them. There are clubs pretty close though, in Derby and Leicestershire. Oh and the now closed xotix in Heanor

Yeah but how do you know they're worth meeting without the 4 hour round trip for a social first?

I am happy to visit certain places because I know I'll find a shag or club there, but I am not likely to travel to, say, Northampton on the off chance the guy I've been chatting will turn up.

I travel almost anywhere for organised socials as always a good night out. ..have made some lovely new friends that way and then I know its worth travelling back to meet them again..furthest ive gone was turkey but again I met them in a club here first lol...

Yes i understand what your saying. But with most guys i meet we message for a few weeks and chat on the phone regular. I suppose become good friends before we actually meet.

In the early days I travelled all over. When I look back I'm amazed how foolish I was: and fortunate. Nowadays I don't travel more than 100m from my office for a social meet and there's a Travelodge less than 100m away should I fancy a play meet.

Everyone is saying the most attractive people (to them) are miles away, so they are either all located in one very special area which we should all rush to find the location of or we all think the grass is greener on the other side.

I try not to even get talking with people more than an hour away, half an hour really, there's so many locally Ive talked to that I have not got round to meeting yet, I really must try harder!

But sometimes someone from further afield sneaks in under the radar and you just have to meet, c'est la vie!!

I go all over the place for clubs and parties...probably the furthest was the Jaydees social (3 hours to York, overnight stay then a couple of hours down to wherever it is (can't remember, Wyrd took the wheel for that part of the drive))...been to Huddersfield for a party...for initial socials for 1-1 or (occasional) couple meets I'll go no further than half an hour/40 minute drive and refuse to meet if they're not in the area

I was fine right up until we turned off the A14. Then we basically winged it. As I said to someone, even the satnav was confused.

Not in my case....my tastes are quite specific and the only guys in my local area are invariably forces and just want me to relieve their boredom. There really are an abundance of black guys in london and the midlands though. Pretty much most I have met are from either of these areas.

Exactly, although I've been luck recently and circumstances allowed me to meet someone very special, but I do feel like I know some of the forum regulars and we'd get on but distance is a barrier. Glad it's not just me
