.. my daughter has chrohns - i know others have it too on here as it has been discussed - she is so tired of taking drugs that she has been trying other remedies - simple things like ginger and peppermint tea - and it has relieved the symptoms a little - the latest thing she is about to try is turmeric and black peppercorns - these apparently help with inflammation - she isnt just trying willy nilly and is on forums and such - really looks into it etc - just wondered if any others had tried this - she would love to be able to reduce the asacol she takes and if this works hopefully she will

"Is it Crohns where they are starting to use faecal transplants?"

Yep, it repairs the gut flora. Sadly, there's not enough evidence to support it so finding a doctor willing to try it may be difficult. It's had some great success stories, some patients are in remission after the therapy.

Yes it is, and results (from the US) have been positive so far.

I went through all that lot a few years ago, now I self-inject once a fortnight and that's all I take.

will look it up - the docs tell you all the options - the asacol works but has to take silly amounts when shes bad so the humira is stronger might be better - just going through all the cameras everywhere again to see whats what - hate this for her shes had it since she was 12 fully blown

Not all health authorities will authorise it at approximately £300 per jab - you might have to hassle your specialist consultant a bit.

"there are others but unfortunately illegal"

If you're talking about CBD oil, there are moves afoot to make it legal for individuals to buy from recommended overseas suppliers

I agree, but humira is on the national formulary list, it just needs extra authorisation.
