Apart from the obvious condom, do you ladies use other contraception and what do you use/recommend??

Has anyone ever used a femidom? What was it like??

Used femidom years ago with my ex wife, i know she didn't like them much, I wouldn't mind try again with someone else, but I think they are not easy to get hold of.

The pill, religiously, for years, and condoms, always condoms. Femidoms look nasty, the idea of using one would turn me right off

Me and wifey spent years using the 'get off now i am cumming' form of contraception which worked for us.. Now we have Kids we have gone for the vasectomy form of contraception...

I've got the implant and use condoms. As with everything everyone is different at how effective they are with you. I've caught once already using the implant with a partner but I still use it as nothing is 100% unless they operate.

I had the depo injection but then the side effect of causing osteoporosis put me off so I am using the implant and have done for 10years and it agrees with me occasionally get some spotting every few months but thats it!

Also condoms too as the pull out method is crappy if the guy has a lot of pre cum and you are fertile!!

Then had the implant for 2 years. No periods. Took that out and 2 months later my husband kicked me out. I was pregnant and miscarried - I'm assuming because of the hormone fuck up over the previous 6 years.

Then I started using the mini pill again recently. Was told to stop taking it and let my period kick back in before having the coil fitted... Still no period and getting the coil on Monday - hope I'm not pregnant!

I've gone a bit off topic.. oops xD

Anyone who has/had the coil... Is it worth the pain??!!?!

Copper coil for me. It was very weird having it fitted after eight years of using nothing at all with my ex husband, it felt kind of liberating not to be trying to conceive after so long.

I've had it over a year and recently my periods have got much worse. My fiancé and I are now considering taking it out and letting fate decide if we will be parents

Really sorry to hear what you have been through. I have had the IUD (copper coil) for the past 2 years. It has been great apart from more recently my periods have been heavy and more painful. So this morning I had the implant fitted again. Hope all goes well for you

Think its the minerva/marina coil is very comfortable and you only know its there if u feel the string attached...had it for 2 years with no issues.

Same here....ive tried most things available but they tend to fuck me up one way or another. I have been referred twice to be sterilised but have changed my mind. Even though i dont want anymore kids it seems a bit final

I have the hormone coil now plus use condoms as well, having over the years tried the combined pill, mini pill, depo injection and had side effects with them all.

I had the coil for other reasons besides just contraception and it's definitely worked well for me.

just out of interest why did you not use condoms?

those are barriers to STI's not necessarily to prevent pregnancy

to me that sentence implies to a degree that your concern is with falling pregnant..

condoms to me are the barrier to prevent STI's

I had it in for 6 months and bleed for the entire time until I had it taken out but I know a few women that it has worked really well for
