Well peeps, I absolutely detest ironing and with my older boy now at secondary school and having to wear a 'proper' uniform I need to buckle down and iron the damn uniform.

Anyone else having the same pain?

I just hate ironing full stop and only iron things when I need them. If I won the lottery tomorrow I'd pay someone to for me.

I used to like ironing uniforms. I did start buying non iron pleated skirts though but seeing crisp,white shirts hanging up is very satisfying. Tram lines in trousers were annoying

Yep that's me too. I tend to iron in huge batches when I run out of clothes I can wear without ironing them or I have a 'must wear that tonight' moment.

I probably iron about three things a year. I hate it. I won't even buy anything that looks like it might need ironing. As long as you don't leave it folded up in a pile for ages its usually fine.

Love ironing. Watch tv in winter whilst doing it but in Summer, its out in the garden in my briefs and I iron as I sunbathe.

Why not look into these crease resistant clothing the supermarkets are all advertising, that way you should in theory just hang it up after washing and it is ok.

I hated after joining the Sea Cadets, Ironing 7 horizontal creases in a serge uniform put.me off it for life, I only do.it when I have to.

Every morning I iron my shirt for work. Hate it! Especially because its meant have like, shaping to it so it goes round boobs and in for the waist... (But they're all made to the same specs so it doesn'teven fit properly) so I have to iron each section and it annoys the hell out of me!!

Am an ex Military single dad ( yes the kind that really are and want to be a dad ) . I iron nearly every day . Granted its only me and my minionsstuff but I have a little bit O.C.D when it comes to cleaning and fresh cloths, bedding etc lol . Used to even iron socks and towels lol .

Yep I know its mad

Nothing like jumping into a nice clean ironed bedding lol . Even if my mind is filthy lol

I quite like ironing - it's almost soothing in its monotony I iron almost everything (for the 6 of us) - bedding (inc fitted sheets), teatowels, all the school uniforms, vests for the small ones, tshirts, skinny jeans - it all gets ironed (and my ironing is all up straight )

Good luck with that!!

My ex used to do this (and judging by the state of my kids clothes when I see them, it looks like she still does)

She used to pull and stretch the clothes before hanging them up.

Trust me, it doesn't work.

I didn't do any ironing in the five years I was with her, but am so glad that i'm now ironing my clothes again - they just look so much smarter.

I always send my children back to her in nicely ironed clothes and with their school uniforms neatly ironed too.

Been there etc But I enjoy ironing but I have to watch TV or a film otherwise it's boring. Maybe do this while ironing, goes quicker

You haven't tried, have you?!!

It actually does work on some clothes, the trick is in what you buy, but in my ongoing experiment I've discovered the parallel lines concept ( ™ ) - with positive results!!

.......& as for ironing jeans, that's bordering on obsessiveness!!

I love ironing, learnt to do it properly in the army. Nobody else in the house is allowed to do it. I finally have a big ironing board now, that suits my height. The slight bending for long periods used to play havoc with my back. Now I get my MP3 player on, earplugs in, full blast and can crack on for 4 or 5 hours. I even like the smell! Only stop to gulp down tea.
