The land of grey peas and bacon

From restaurants or places. Items such as glasses and cups...do you? My mum took a shine to a schnapps glass while in Denmark and put it in her bag...I told her it was theft...I've taken a Starbucks mug before years ago but it just seems wrong to do it...

restaurants add a percentage to their bill to cover the cost of theft

Jamie Oliver once said that he suffers great losses -- price of fame everyone wants a piece of Jamie

I took a Peroni pint glass from the Village hotel in Coventry.. Coz my beer looks better in it!!

In the 80s my mum used to take the cutlery from our chalet in Butlins. It's a mark of my childhood, eating my tea with knives and forks stamped with Butlins

When I worked behind a bar, we had a case of Stella Goblets sent in. By the end of the first night we had 3 left out of the 24 that had gone out to customers.

We later found out that they were the ones with the gold plated rim and worth about £20/30 on Ebay!

I was once out with my mum and the dog, but had forgotten some poo bags. My mum just popped into Tesco and grabbed a load of the free fruit/veg plastic bags.

I spent the next 5 minutes looking over my shoulder and asking her how long she'd been a master thief.

My housemate is the same.

We once bought a Krispy Kreme donut from Tesco each. They obviously weren't bar-coded as we went through the self service. So I tried to find them on the no bar code option, couldn't, so put them through as normal Tesco donuts at 39p. She realised as we were walking out the door. I had to physically grab her by the arm and lead her to the car, to stop her going back to customer service and paying the full amount! She was convinced security were going to come after us for stealing.

I think the majority of my glass collection is made up from varying pubs clubs glasses but not from a deliberate act of theft but usually just that I'm still drinking when taxi turns up so end up taking it with me!!

The prices hotels charge for drinks means you probably paid for the glass!

During the early 90's I used to wear Dr Martins and a long coat, occasionally a fancy pint glass, would somehow find its way into its very deep pockets.

I swiped a lovely koppenberg glass from the pub last year.

Dropped it on the floor when I got home.

I wouldn't. Apart from the fact I would feel like a thief. (Which I would be) I just wouldn't want useless clutter about.

It's more for the memories not clutter

Half of my crockery, cutlery and glassware is courtesy of the hotel next door. However, the staff do tell me what is new in and ask what I want, so effectively not stealing.

Yep we have shot glasses and pint glasses from pubs/clubs then we have towels from hotels. We walk round with a mask and swag bag just in case we feel the urge to become master criminals!!

I stayed at a really nice, really fancy hotel this weekend. The towels were so thick I could hardly get my suitcase shut.

I have a nice Rekorderlig glass that I swiped from a pub in Ulverston and when I was at LFF I swiped a pair of nice wine glasses (I justified that to myself by the fact that 2 large wines cost me the equivalent of over 3 full priced bottles from Bargain Booze)...unfortunately one was broken when I got home

Its theft you can't really call it anything else and it just puts the prices up for everyone so no we don't.
