hiding your profile

What is the point of this function? We have hidden our profile thinking it would stop the messages and let us take a break, but people can still message and can still see our pics, which is why we've removed them

Hiding your profile is a means of taking a break without having to delete and have to start all over. It can be for any number of reasons.

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

My understanding is once hidden you no longer show on searches, however if you post on the forums or have had previous contact you can be seen. If you don't Wamt messages filters filters and more filters pictures move to private

I've just clicked on your profile and it says it is hidden and I cannot see anything ?

I hide mine sometimes when I take a break so that I don't lose all my Veris etc

Hiding your profile can be a very useful tool.

Remember to move all pictures to private, and set your filters to no messages.

Sometimes real life just takes over, and hiding can be a great way to take a break without losing contacts and veris.

Hope real life is gentle to you out there, and no doubt fab will be here when you are ready to re-enter the fray!

Only people who you have already responded to or messaged can. New people can't

I've occasionally used the hide profile function when I have been searching for people as well though, so I can focus on what I am looking for rather than the multitude of messages single ladies get, so having some pics available can be useful.

Like all tools, some folk like them, some don't - but use them how you see fit.

Why? We have a lot of friends on here and some good veris that have taken time to gather, if we left we would lose all of them, we don't want to leave and then start again we just want a couple of weeks off

I hid mine as I was taking a break for health reasons. But still chatted to those friends who would meet me socially. No one dropped me like a hot potato because they couldn't fuck me which was great & we could still flirt, be filthy in the build up to when I was back playing.

It backs up all the advice people are given - the level of reward from this site is equal to or greater than the effort put in x

If as well as hiding you change the age range you're looking for to in the 90s then only people who have messaged before can contact you. It makes it more efficient.

Because we thought hiding your profile ment exactly that, it was hidden so nobody could contact you, not it just hides your profile text, which is my point why have a hide facility when you've got to apply your filters anyway and remove your pictures, it might as well not be on the website

You don't have to remove pictures just click on the groups you are having mail from you don't want up to say 6 clicks and then done. Assuming something and it actually being exactly what you want isn't the same thing.

Its not pointless at all. Why leave the site - lose veris and site supporter to just have a break. Just hide profile, set all your pictures to private and untick all the searching for boxes so you dont come up on searches. Then apply the filters so no one can message you. Tools are there on site to let let you have a break.

It's a hide facility, not a disappear off the face of the earth facility. I find it useful when taking a break but if it doesn't do what you want you could always try having a total break and not logging on?

My block list will need it's own Page with the amount of cranks and timewasters on it who pic collect or send abusive messages

It should hide text, photo's and block new people from mailing. But it doesn't...

I think people that mail hidden profiles (as sending a first mail) are a bit odd. Just delete the mail when you get back online.
