If you could one thing from your dating history

.. What would it be?

For me, when I was young and naive as a 17 or 18 year old at school there was this gorgeous girl in the year below (lower sixth to my upper sixth as it was then) who, looking back, threw out so many signals (most of them blatant) to me but I simply never picked up on them. Even to the point when she asked me what I did over the weekend and when I said 'nothing' she said 'no, me neither. You should have called me and we could have gone out together'.

At the time I was awkward, had far fewer social skills and just simply couldn't read signals. I think she just gave up in the end and it wasn't until much later that the penny dropped. Definitely the one that got away and even now I get twinges of regret thinking about it, she was so lovely. Ah well.

Anyway, are there any things you'd do differently now with the benefit of hindsight?

And I'd have avoided messing things up with a wonderful man who was perfect for me by not having seen it.

Perhaps not getting caught by my Dad when I was sleeping with my first sexual boyfriend.

I would not have been stupid enough to fall madly in love with a swinger who's been swinging most of his adult life! A disaster waiting to happen when you've only been swinging a few months!
