To let out a maniacal laugh when I see people who declined/ignored me, complaining that there are no genuine profiles or that they've had their time wasted?

I almost felt like Dr Evil this morning!

Whether you are genuine or not is irrelevant when you are not for them.

It is a bit wrong, because the other side of the coin is that they'd rather go without meets and complain about it than meet you

Glass half empty, view there

Bullseye!

The word 'Genuine' is severely overused on here!

It's even funnier when you get a messages from some one asking you to meet (that previously turned you down) and they get in a huff when you say no.

So you feel 'nice' knowing others can't find someone suitable to meet?

Why?

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I don't check local updates and tend not to follow people who have turned me down, so I wouldn't know if they were complaining or not.

However, I am always a fan of a little schadenfreude

Schadenfreude is one of my top ten favourite words.

It's a great word but it's really mean to do that.

Makes me laugh how people put up a moaning status about nobody being genuine because they can't get a meet like it is everybody else's fault & not their own

It's like standing in an orchard and complaining there's nothing to eat. Look, I know folk have tastes and preferences, like I said, it's totally and rightly their prerogative.

But..As my original post said, it's those who ignored/declined that I found complaining about 2 specific things I know I'm not, that made me feel a tad smug...

Hmm..I may have given the wrong impression to some.

I'm not bothered I haven't met them, that's their choice and I respect/accept that totally.

I'm not bitter at all, I have no right to be.

But it felt a bit like watching someone peacocking about how ace they are, tripping over.

I'll get mi coat!

Do you expect them to meet someone they were clearly not interested in just because they seemingly can't get a meet? I'd rather go without a meet than meet someone I wasn't into just because they claimed they were genuine. Not really nice to have a laugh at them. I've had people message me asking for a meet, agreed then they sopped messaging and ignored me, later putting status updates on like this site is shit, no one wants to meet, can't get a meet, etc etc. Let them get on with it and ignore, its what they did to you.

Ok I'll reiterate what I said previously

I do not expect anyone to do anything.

What they do is totally their right.

I accept and respect that right.

Don't think I don't.

But still...

I wouldn't take any pleasure in seeing someone who'd turned me down, struggling with another meet, of their choice.

But I once did have good cause to take a great deal of pleasure from a couples failed meet.

I had arranged to meet them, chatted over a couple of days, spoke to both on the phone, arranged time and place, and all looking forward to it.

When I texted, just to say I was on schedule and would be with them in half an hour, they told me they were very sorry, but the female had been taken ill, and had been being sick.

I of course wished her well, told them not to worry, and headed home.

After getting back, I looked on Fab, and saw they'd added a meet, about 5 mins before they told me she was ill.

They also had blocked me, but they maybe forgot I could still see their advertised meet.

I sent them a quick text (not abusive) just to let them know, I knew what they'd done, and didn't appreciate being lied to.

Their response amazed me, they continued to lie, saying that they hadn't blocked me, and she was ill.

Thing is, if they'd changed their minds, and just told me so, I wouldn't have a problem at all.

Anyway, apparently their replacement meet, never came off, so I did have to have a chuckle.
