those random spanners in the works that, with the luxury of hindsight....

I once had a flatmate who spent a whole day shopping for and perfecting her pork stroganoff, for a guy who turned out to be not only Jewish but also vegetarian.....

..another flatmate once brought a guy home from a club after a night on the lash, and the next morning staggered into the kitchen to make coffee, knocking back a couple of paracetamol with a glass of water by the sink... cue date, feeling his way along the wall, enquiring about his contact lenses in the glass by the sink...

.. and after one of the most memorable nights ever (Aussie, rower...) I fed Nutella-stuffed croissants to a man with a severe hazelnut allergy.

Anyone else care to fess up?
