Had my gym induction today. Not been for 3 years & as someone with around 4 stone i'd like to lose it was a big first step.

Have to say the small amount of time i spent there (squeezing it into a very busy day) i really enjoyed it. Just wondering how often a week turns me into a gym bunny & is there such a thing as going too often?

Go 3 -4 times a week then increase it if you feel the desire but remember to rest well in between sessions

Dont forget a nice sauna or hot tub fun as well

YEs go around 3 times a week, I do that, plus a low carb, high protein diet will help, good luck x

Good for you, the first step is always the hardest!

You will sooner or later hit a wall and think 'fcuk it' but try and make sure you keep at it and pull yourself through that and you'll reap the rewards!

Gym is part of the job, food intake though is the bit that will really loss the weight!

I'm also on a gym crusade right now, put on some weight over the Summer, aiming for 2 stone loss by Christmas.

Good luck with it!

Total respect for you. It took me several years to loose around 3 and a half stone. I can't do treadmills or stuff like that so I found a couple of sports I enjoy and used them to help me lose weight. Since 2009 I've done 3 triathlons and last month I did a 100 mile charity bike ride.

Don't be scared of the weights, they've helped me ten fold in losing weight and toning up. I was doing mainly cardio for a while and didn't lose a great deal.

But I've now changed my routine to mostly weight training with a little cardio thrown in like running club ect xx

I go 3 times a week

3 times a week is good as it fits nicely into Monday Wednesday Friday with a rest day in between.

Since your going for weight loss diet should be your main focus you can eat in five minutes what would take five hours in the gym to burn.

I go by my motto of "dont eat crap"

I used to calorie count but I'm a sucker for cheating I'd be like oh we'll that chocolate bars only so many calories.

Firstly the best pizza known to man is ham & pineapple....

I know it's all about dietary intake, i also know why i've put the weight on. I eat crap between meals.

My plan is not to calorie count as my portions are not big. My plan is to go for good fresh wholesome, flavoursome food. That combined with exercise will hopefully get results. I have no intention of turning into a freak who weighs every five minutes & will judge how i feel by clothes and fitness.

I've decided to take advantage of 3 free sessions with a personal trainer at the gym & then possibly invest in a session once a month. I like classes but also appreciate that i need to do weights to tone my wobbly bits.

Thanks for all your help guys n gals

I don't go to the gym but I have a tread mill and cross trainer at home which I use everyday, I do between 1 and a half and 2 hours a day, I see a gym bunny as a body not the amount of times people exercise, what with what I do at home and the fact I cycle on average 30 miles a day I should be a gym bunny but I'm not people say to me all the time you should be a size 8 with all the exercise you do
