Sat outside earlier and a wasp kept landing on a small wood table near us - I went and sat close to it and I could hear it biting the wood away! Must have been collecting wood to make to pulp to build the nest! Fascinating! Z

They will nibble on all sorts. I kept bees in my teens and its fascinating watching them do specific tasks.

Bee's and wasps that is, and they don't much like each other either.

Do prefer bees to wasps but they're all here for a reason - can't knock their engineering skills! Z

Having found one last week as I was hacking my way through the brambles to get to the oil tank......decided at weekend to put Twizzler, Drummer and Burger (my three little baby turkeys) outside.

Went to drag one of my creche sized chicken houses across the garden...tipped it up to make sure it was clean.....and a HUGE wasps nest filling the Apex of the roof.......bloody things are definitely out to get me this year!!!
